Always a great spot. Lots of playgrounds for kids to play around on, Indian Village to explore, barn with cows/calves, old one-room schoolhouse, ponds and bridges, beautiful gardens, fishing pond, sluice "gold" mining, pony rides, bottle feed baby goats, ice cream shop, rabbits, little ride-on toy tractor track, wagon rides...

seriously, how could a kid NOT enjoy this place. And its cheap (so how could a parent not enjoy too).

When my husband and I visit KC/Overland Park area with our kiddo, we usually head here so she can burn off energy before our long drive home. Nap in the car? Yes!

We were looking for a place to take our little grand kids (ages 3 and 5) and our son mentioned Deanna Rose Farmstead. The children are too young for many of the big name attractions and often the crowds at some of those places make the experience much less fun for little guys who can't see over the people and are not to too good at waiting in line. Deanna Rose was perfect.

We were there on Memorial Day weekend and lots of people were there but it didn't seem really crowded. We panned for gemstones, fed the ducks and baby goats, rode the ponies and hardly had to spend any time waiting in line. There were baby calves, cows, a pig and goats to pet and chickens to watch, a schoolhouse with desks to sit in, cowbells to ring, and lots of quick fun activities.. Our kids were there mainly for the animals and activities and found plenty to do to keep them intrigued.

Parking was easy and close, refreshments and food available, no admission during the week (Mon thru Thurs) and only $2 on weekends and Holidays! It was a great time and I would highly recommend it for toddlers to 10 year olds or so. Having more hand washing stations would be helpful.

Learning about nature and farm life in a pleasant environment provides a morning or afternoon of family fun in the Overland Park, KS area. The weekend admission price of $2.00 per person was unbelievable and children under 2 are admitted free. Complimentary wagons and strollers (first come first serve) provide a great way to take little children around the complex. Many of the staff are volunteer young people who help provide for a nice experience. The site features several playground areas which helps young children work off a little energy. There is a nice covered picnic area where you can eat so long as the food is purchased there. Favorite activities include feeding baby goats bottled milk ($1.00 per bottle charge). For families with young children visiting the Kansas City/Overland Park area this is a real treat.

Deanna Rose Farm is great place for young and old. Kids love getting up close with the animals. Adults enjoy the scenic grounds and history of a 1900's farmstead. If you visit during the school day you might find crowds of school kids. Come after lunch and its much quieter. Crowds are usually smaller on Fridays since they charge $2 per person on Fri/Sat/Sun. Worth the extra $ to avoid the groups. An outstanding facility and family activity. We'll visit again and again.

We had high expectations of the Deanna Rose Farmstead due to the positive reviews and recommendations from relatives, and it exceeded all of our expectations. The staff could not have been nicer or more enthusiastic-- they love what they do, and it shows. Everything was clean, well-organized and geared toward what children love to do. We found it very reasonably priced as well. We will heartily recommend this attraction to anyone who visits the KC area!
