This is such a great way to spend the afternoon with your family! The kids love this, and it is a great place to bring a snack and water bottle and walk!

We go to the Arboretum every year, we enjoy the plantings, the trails, we've been to a night event here too which was very nice. It's an OP gem.

This giant nature park just gets better and better. Amazing trails, lots of water and trees. BUT most of all this park is about the amazing gardens!
This park has something for about everyone. Small areas to picnic or just take a light stroll. Also a great place to take photos with family or for special occasions. If you just want to take in the beauty, there are many trails to get lost in the fun for the afternoon.

We've enjoyed hiking during our retirement, traveling throughout the western part of the United States, but rarely considering trails in our own area. Today we revisited the Arboretum, enjoying it as if we were strangers.

This is an amazing park, from the educational facility, through the well-kept trails, and especially through the fabulous sculpture exhibits. Each season offers something different - spring flowers, summer beauty, fall colors, and wide visibility of the winter.

Recently, a new large sculpture path was installed with some wonderful bronzes placed along the way. Each sculpture was a wonderful study in art. I found no information about them in the main park building nor the park web site. They seem to be of Chinese origin, though for these elderly bones, the bronze captions were difficult to ready as they were all placed low on the concrete bases of the art.

The educational signage for the various tree types is in a bit of disrepair, but overall I'd have to say the Overland Park Arboretum is among the best maintained park that we have visited. It's almost embarrassing that there is no fee for entry, but we're among those who gladly leave a generous donation in hopes that young families can enjoy this facility.

If you're in the Overland Park area, it's worth the trip!
