Hotel looks brand new and was in perfect condition. Johnny's Italian Steakhouse on premises, which we used for drinks and dinner. No hot water in our room but didn't bother reporting it since it was a quick overnight. Probably just a fluke given the quality of the hotel.

Room Tip: 6th floor was quiet.

Thank you for your review! We are glad that you found our hotel to still be like new! Our team certainly takes pride in ensuring that our property is well maintained for our guests. We apologize for the hot water problem you incurred during your stay. That is certainly out of the ordinary, and our Maintenance team has tested several rooms on the sixth floor to ensure hot water is available. We look forward to having you stay with us again the next time you visit Olathe!

The hotel is in a great area. We found many places to eat and shop. The suites we stayed in were nice, just need to add dishes & utensils to large suites.
Don't like the glass doors to rooms & bathrooms- need to coat them. Very embarrassing plus the light from the living area (in the suites) is not muted.

Bed was okay, but not great. Better than those number beds though. Bedrooms are nice size with an extra chair.
The executive suite has a nice large living area w desk, television and sectional. One part of sectional has a queen sleeper. We didn't use it so can't comment. The sectional was hard to sit on for very long as it was stiff.

The staff attitudes/service were sporadic. One young woman at the desk did not report our issues, had to ask a gentleman later that day who was very accommodating. One male staff member at breakfast had a bad attitude. Did not want to be accommodating.

Breakfast was a joke. First you come into the dining room and there is nobody to help you. We had to go to the front desk 2 of the mornings to get help. The chef decided what to fix each day. Unlike any other HGI we have stayed at. They did not seem to like to be asked to make you eggs or omelets. and don't ask for anything other than those because you will not get them. Choices in buffet were High fat (casseroles or eggs w cheese, bacon, sausage, sausage gravy w biscuits), oatmeal w scum on top, doughy or burnt scones, boughten danish and muffins, boxed cereals, a couple choices of fresh fruit otherwise not many choices. Only 1 choice of yogurt. One morning we did have a choice of 2 muffins that looked to be fresh- Banana nut or chocolate chip. One day there was french toast, but only in the buffet. They will need to improve on this.
Coffee became my breakfast choice.

The restaurant food (Johnny's Italian Steakhouse )was also sporadic. We had good steaks and Seafood on Friday night, but Sunday night when the chef wasn't there, the steaks & scallops were overcooked. Pass on the bisque.

Would we stay here again. Yes. It's in a nice area and we have family close by. We would just make other choices for food and if there was an issue, maybe asking the person it was relayed to, to repeat it or watch them write it down would help. We also hope they fix those see though glass doors. We like the doors just not the clear glass.

Room Tip: We were on the 5th floor with a large suite. they are a wonderful size with lots of space for a family or guests. Just be aware that the doors on the bathrooms & to the bedroom areas(suites) have see through glass panels

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel! It's quite refreshing to get an in depth view of every aspect of your experience at our hotel from our team members customer service, our room accommodations, to our breakfast and restaurant. First, let me apologize that you experienced anything other than excellence throughout your stay with us. We pride ourselves in taking care of our guests in every facet of their stay, and I am disheartened to hear that we fell short. I am also very thankful that you were able to share certain elements of your experience with one of our Executives while you were still here with us, as well reviewing our hotel here on Tripadvisor.
You have unquestionably been heard. We review our customer service skills daily and have addressed those aspects you shared your concern with immediately with all of our team members. We have also spoken with our Executive team and Chefs to look at those areas of opportunity we may still have in our breakfast and dinner service. I'm happy to say we've already put several things in place in order to give our guests a better experience.
Again, thank you for your constructive feedback. We look forward to providing superior service to you the next time you are in town!

Great place to stay- friendly folks and hotel updated, clean, accommodating. I especially like the fact they have a printer/fax/copier/scanner where I can do everything I need for business and personal needs

Stayed one night for a short visit to KC. The hotel appears new and it is very clean, throughout. The rooms are spacious, quiet and clean. My requested foam pillows were waiting for me in the room. This hotel has a full bar with a good wine and liquor selection. The price was reasonable and there are many restaurants and good shopping in the area. Great gym and indoor pool.
