Incredibly, the bath door could not be fully opened due to interference with the toilet. You could barely squeeze by to get into the small space.

Also, heater thermostat was not functioning--stuck at 60 degrees.

We experienced a heavy snow during the stay, but it was removed quickly from lot. Poor maintenance guy could not figure out how to start his snowblower--fortunately I'm from Michigan and had it running in seconds!

This Hampton does not seem up to the standards of most of the chain and the pricing was quite high given its drawbacks. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping closeby, so the location is convenient, but I'm not wild about coming back.

We came to see a KU basketball game so the location was good and it was easy to get to the highway we needed to get back on the road the next morning. Being senior adults a lot of our decisions are based on how convenient the location is. The staff was helpful, even calling to see if there was anything else they could do. Overall the stay was nice.

The lobby, breakfast area and fitness center are updated, but wait till you get to your room. Very old and bedding not good. Have never been in hotel where floor goes uphill and down hill, very hard to go down hallway pushing anything. Would not stay here again.

I enjoy staying at Hampton Inn when i travel but this location was not up to hampton standards. No major problems but the bed and pillows were not comfortable. The hotel was just average, guess i expect more from a hotel with the Hampton name on it.

Room was very clean. Towels are small and thin. Walls are kind of beat up and old looking. My room was supposedly non-smoking but I could smell old smoke. Hotel is decent and a good value but make sure you stay on the third floor. I was on the second and it sounded like there were herds of elephants roaming the floor above me. Free wi-fi is excellent and the free breakfast was very good with nice selection of items. Staff was very polite and friendly.

Room Tip: Make sure you get on the third floor!

It was Christmas weekend and the staff were very friendly and were glad to be there and help us out. They had an excellent breakfast. The rooms were very clean. The beds were very comfortable. This is our second time to stay there. We stayed Thanksgiving weekend also.

We stay at a lot of Hamptons and Holiday Inn Express hotels on our road trips around America. This was the best of the best hotels we stayed at. Every aspect was perfect. Great front desk service, clean beyond clean and a great breakfast each morning. We did not use the pool but it looked pristine. Good location by some great restaurants and easy access to all of Kansas City.
This hotel really stands out and sets the bar at what all discount rate hotels should be. I have never reviewed another discount rate hotel but this one needs to be talked about.
