The SAFE deposit fee was not explained at either of the Super 8s that we visited during our trip. We overheard another woman ask about the charge on her bill, so we asked for a refund at our check outs. The clerks were very polite and apologetic about the charges .
Asking if the person is going to use the safe would be a better business practice.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback on your stay. We value our customers and appreciate your comments. I understand your frustration with the safe warranty fee. We have to charge this fee daily to have the insurance effective if a guest ever had an issue. Guests are notified of the safe fee at check-in, as it is listed on the registration card each guest is required to sign. We would be happy to ask our guests if they planned to use the safe, but, unfortunately, asking a guest if they plan on using the safe is similar to asking the guest, "Are you carrying valuables with you today?" That is information we do not expect guests to share. We always graciously remove the safe warranty upon the request of any guest. Please make us aware upon departure if you have not used the amenity to ensure that you aren’t paying for the insurance. We truly do not want you paying for a service that you do not need or utilize. We hope to have you return again and that we have the chance to work through any issues with you directly.
The room was very good for the price. The staff was friendly and there was a computer available for use. There was a breakfast available and the room was close to Kansas State University. I had no issues with the room or the service and would stay there again.
