Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
Positives: Friendly and accommodating desk staff, nicely appointed rooms, absolutely WONDERFUL LOCATION, free parking available, free wi-fi, nice view, mini fridge in room
Negatives: No coffee maker in room (for the price of the room, I was surprised this was absent), our particular room was an odd shape that wasn't very cozy, lights were a little dim.

Room Tip: We had 505. Great view, but weird shape. Our friends had a second room floor. View sucked but ove...

Filled with lots of history, this is a gorgeous hotel, so be sure to take a walk around the lobby to see everything. The front desk staff is superb. The restaurant seems overpriced, but if you want fru-fru food, it's a great place. The wait staff at the restaurant is very good.

We have stayed at the old Eldridge before, and enjoyed our stay, so we wouldn't stay elsewhere. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay for two nights. The rooms are spacious, and the staff very attentive. There is no reason to be elsewhere, especially since the Massachusetts Street location places you amidst everything, like dining, nightlife, shopping.

I was recently having my floors refinished; which required me to be gone a couple of days; so I decided to stay nearby in Lawrence, Kansas. I stayed at the Eldridge, a historical hotel with lots of old world charm and has the look and feel of old European hotels. Great workmanship is obvious everywhere, dark wood and plush, deep cushioned chairs and sofas. The hotel staff is professional and eager to help their guests. I stayed in room 402, which is a premium double queen suite. The package includes valet parking which is very useful because the Eldridge is in downtown Lawrence with many unique shops and few parking spaces. There is plenty of eateries nearby to suit any appetite. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel as the package included a sizable wine and cheese platter upon our arrival, but we did eat at the Ten restaurant for breakfast and the food was quite good. Our room was incredibly comfortable, I was surprised at how it felt like I was sleeping at home. The hotel is considered haunted, but we didn't notice anything abnormal. Overall a great little hotel; in a sea of modern cookie cutter hotels. Quite enjoyable.

Room Tip: If you want a 'haunted' experience, ask for room 506 which is the 'haunted' room whe...
