Admission is free and the rotating exhibits make it a very interesting place to visit if you're up on KU's campus.

You can have an enjoyable walk through this whole museum in around 2 hours (or do just a few galleries in 30 minutes to an hour) and leave feeling stimulated and refreshed and aesthetically well-fed - without any of the exhaustion and mental bloat that comes from trying to eat a whole HUGE museum in one trip, which is nearly inevitable when you have to walk for ages to get from gallery to gallery in the city biggies. Like Lawrence, the Spencer Museum of Art is not too big, not too small, and full of quality pieces well worth seeing. Believe it or not (and I was "not" until I actually went), the Johnson County Community College actually has a pretty good museum too. Not as good as the Spencer for a certainty, but worth the half-hour drive.

Very well displayed and clean with narrators telling the interesting things about the displays. Excellent place to take groups.
