“Like being a kid in a candystore”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

If you are a Jayhawk fan, the Booth Family Hall of Athletics is the gift that keeps on giving. While primarily devoted to Kansas basketball, the facility pays homage to all sports of both men and women. One kiosk is dedicated to Wilt Chamberlain that includes his KU letter jacket. Obviously many championship trophies are on display, but that is only the beginning. The hall also has interactive displays related to hoops. To reach the Booth family Hall of Athletics, you enter the front doors of famed Allen Fieldhouse, a place basketball guru Jay Bilas has deemed the
"St. Andrews of college basketball." There is also considerable memorabilia that belonged to James Naismith, the inventor of basketball and KU's first coach. For anyone interested in the history of college basketball, this place is a must.

We attended the KU vs KState basketball game and had a wonderful time. We took our Grandson and his girlfriend and it was their first time in Allen Field House. It was a wonderful experience for everyone

“A Trip through KU Athletics History”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

Either before or after a KU basketball game this is a great place to visit. Not only is there history about basketball but every other sport that KU has. Plus it is the birthplace of basketball with James Naismith as the first coach. I'm really looking forward to when they add the Original Rules of Basketball in 2014.

“Rock Chalk Jayhawk”

The history of Kansas Basketball, as well as other Kansas sports is contained in this Hall of Athletics. A great place to learn about Phog Allen, James Naismith, Wilt Chamberlain, Gale Sayers, and the other individuals that contributed to the history of Kansas Athletics.

“The Home of Basketball”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

Naismith may have started basketball in Massachusetts, but he finished in Lawrence Kansas. Phog Allen Fieldhouse is a classic and the Booth HOA is a must see. The hall has all Kansas athletics represented, but I love college basketball, so that is where I spent my time. Great interactive displays, but the history of Kansas basketball is evident when you walk in the doors. Kansas is also building an addition to house the original 13 rules of basketball that Mr. Naismith originally wrote in 1891, recently David Booth spent over 4 million dollars to bring home to Lawrence. If you are in the KC area and love basketball, this is a must see.
