I was here for my 17th Birthday it is probably the best hotel in Kansas, The chain Great Wolf Lodge really knows what's best for it's clientele, the room I have to say is somewhat evocative of a cabin that you might see in a summer camp but it does have normal beds for the adults and bunks for the children which is very unique for a chain hotel. My stay was EPIC sure the waterpark was my top priority but, miniature golf, video arcade, a junior day spa even Magic quest which was scattered throughout the facility makes for one heck of a trip, I love how in the bathroom they had bubblegum scented body wash (or was it shampoo) for the children. Of course souvenir shopping possibilities are believable (unlike most hotel gift shops that are tacky and sell more sundries than actual souvenirs.) Here you got two really good shops one on the first floor and another on the second) I purchased a dragon necklace from one of the shops which Is now part of my dragon collection. the food I'd say is awesome. the main restaurant reminded me a lot of Possum Lodge from the Red Green Show except with more of an american feel than a Canadian feel to things. Overall this place Gets an A+ for everything I cannot wait to stay here again.

We stayed here twice. But this time, with a 5-yr-old, we have a close look at the service. A nice, clean place in Kansas City. We were kindly greeted by the front desk person. We got the room we requested. We had good night sleeps. We appreciated service at the front desk, the cub club, the creation station, water park, stores and bar. Superb and friendly staffs and lifeguards at water park. Our biggest mistake was to get the Paw Pass, which included the mini golf and the MagiQuest. The magiQuest requires tons of work and gives you too many technical issues, which required of us many trips to the understaffed MagiQuest store to fix the issue. I meant "understaffed" in reference to the technical problems many families experienced during the game. Too many issues, but not enough staffs to respond to. The bottom line is...We were treated as if we were idiots.
So our recommendation for other guests... Do not buy the Paw Pass if you can talk to your children. It is just waste of money. They can have a lot of fun without it at the water park and children need to rest after hours of water play.

In sum, our child had enough fun. But for us parents, it wasn't a vacation. Double the work load to deal with the marketing strategies of Great Wolf Lodge. Our child had three days of heaven, but for us... You know.

We just returned from Great Wolf Lodge, KC. We stayed the night of Oct. 6th and celebrated our son turning 2 and daughter turning 8. We read online that you can swim as early at 1:00 pm and then check out is 4:00 or later. You can check in online, however we bought during the 48 hour sale and online check in wasn't an option. I was really dreading a lengthy check in and transition to our room with our little one, but I needn't have worried at all. When we arrived at 2:00 they advised us that our room was available early and check in was a breeze. We had no wait time at at all. We all loved the water park and there was plenty to keep all of our children busy ages 2-13. The wait time for the slides was minimal to non existent and the staff was attentive and friendly. We had a room that was away from the main fun of Magi Quest, but we never noticed any sounds from neighbors at all. Our children enjoyed the arcade and each won small prizes easily and cashed in tickets for other small trinkets. They even let my daughter get something she wanted even though she was a few tickets shy. She didn't even have to ask, the attendant noticed she wanted it and offered. The life guards were friendly and attentive. There was a female life guard that had to turn away two small children at the biggest slide and she did so very kindly and gently and really took time to explain to them why and what they could ride. I was impressed with her patience and the way she got on their level and explained it to them. It could get costly if you partake in all the wonderful things they have to offer. We caught the room on a 48 hour sale and we ate out and packed food. We did spend about $30 in the gift shop on the birthday kids and we spent food on take out from Famous Dave's BBQ. The room was the basic family suite. Our beds were amazing and soft. The room was very clean and had a mini fridge and microwave. We brought our own hot chocolate and hot cider packs and boiled water with the coffee maker. Had a reasonable cost night out and 2 full days of swimming. We will definitely come back and try to make time for 2 nights.

Room Tip: We had the basic family suite which has two beds and then a sofa bed. We are a family of 5 and had plenty of room for a night or two. (2 adults, 12 yr old, 8 yr old and 2 yr old). Suite sleeps 6.

I was nothing but impressed with this hotel/attraction. The whole place caters to children. The waterpark is amazing, the lobby is adorable, and the "magic game" is fun. The place if full of children running around trying to play their magic wand game and the staff is friendly and helpful. It's a place for families to have a great time. There's story time, tours around the hotel, great gift shops, ice cream shop, and tons of more activities to choose from. We stayed one night but next time we'll make it a point to stay at least two nights. Our kids are too young to play the magic quest game they offer, but we found out as we were leaving that you can buy a wand and unofficially play, you don't collect points, just explore and open the magic treasures and stuff. Wish we had known that! It was a wonderful experience, if you're looking for a cheap hotel, this is not the place, but if you do the math, waterpark entry plus hotel, it's not as expensive as it seems.

Kids had a great time. Dining was great. Wish we could have stated longer. Water park was fun for everyone. The kids want to go back on our next vacation . Lots of different activities for the kids. They enjoyed story time at night. Camp critter grille was wonderful. We loved the food and the decor. The kids even got their own woff ears. We didn't get to go to the spa but next time we will for sure.
