“Its time for a realistic review on this hotel”

This is a new hotel, all is clean and new ,very bright and colorful . However the bugs have not been worked out. Our family (16people) stayed for 2 nights for a family get together and 50th birthday party. We loved the breakfast area for playing cards and visiting with eachother however the lobby furnature is not comfortable to sit in. The staff are friendly . We experienced problems with room doors not opening and the staff had trouble too. Even the maids could not open the door sometimes. This was very inconvienet and should not happen. The pool is open 7am to 11pm and is nice but the pool is very small , the hot tub is nice sized but the water smelled like old gym socks or mold and milldew that is not good !!!!!!!! The breakfast was nice and had all the basics however for rooms over $100 they could do better I think the Jimmy dean biscuts were ok but being frozen then in the refrig for days the biscuit was sticky not flakey the muffins were just ok too. I would recommend this hotel with a warning that if the hottub or breakfast are important you could do better at Hampton Inn . Sleep quality suffered because you could hear people runing around upstairs. I liked the chair height toilet and bathroom is well designed the rooms are large and have a micro and frig. they have 3 pillows per bed and with 4 of us in the room we would have liked 2 more pillows . also the pillows were too fluffy they did not suport our heads we had to fold them in 1/2 to hold our heads up.

Room Tip: top floor would be best because you can hear the people walking around upstairs

Loved the hotel-and the rooms were great and new and everyone so nice-but the breakfast was not that good-no bread-just bagel and muffins-and egg and saugase sandwichs-ugh.Close to the Cosomsphere and Salt mines.Had to eat breakfast and the I-Hop in the morning to get a good one

The Fairfield Inn in Hutchinson is new (10/2012). It has a 'retro' decor. We asked for a feather-free room on an upper floor and we received a 4th floor room. Nice. It had a small refrigerator and a microwave, single-serve coffee pot. One gripe: Coffee but no tea in the room. The breakfast was OK. Heavy on the carbs (muffins, waffles, bagels, egg/sausage/biscuits). They also had cold cereal, along with apples and 'nanners. The property is easy to find, has ample parking, a small indoor pool/hot tub. I was very happy and would stay there again. The staff was very pleasant, and we had no problems. We stayed 5 days.

We were in Hutchinson for Rod Run. We arrived early thinking we would stop in and park our luggage since we needed to be downtown to show our classic car (hard to do with luggage in trunk). The staff went out of their way to get us checked into our room early. In addition to the fact we requested a view of the parking lot so we could keep an eye on our car, they were able to meet all our requests. It was really appreciated!!

The room was great with all the amenities we needed, refrigerator, coffeemaker, extra plug-ins at desk, etc. Great shower also.

The only suggestion we would make is more variety in breakfast. They did offer breakfast sandwiches that could be microwaved, but perhaps scrambled eggs, gravy & biscuits, or some type of sausage / bacon added would be nice.

Will stay here any time we're in the area.

This was recently opened and the staff was super-helpful. Air conditioner was very quiet. Location is close to the Cosmosphere and the mall. If you ever pass through Hutchinson you should visit the Cosmosphere. The price was a bit higher than some of the motels in the area but the cleanliness and quiet atmosphere were worth it.

This is a really new hotel. It looks nice and new although the carpets look old. On the stairway they had a lot of dings and marks that made it look a little shabby and old. The room was really well furnished and had a great set up. I love the furniture in the room. Nice desk with a built in power strip and nice desk chair. I hate when I can't find a plug in that I can use to charge my phone. This room didn't have any shortage of power outages. It has the lamps that have a power outlet in them which I love when I see. The TV was nice and larger for most hotels. I like that you can swivel it and watch it from the desk. I travel for work and like to have mindless background noise on while I am doing data stuff. The shower was a very nice stand up with glass doors. It was a nice change to normal hotel showers. The pool is a little pathetic and small for being brand new but the workout room is nice (a little small) but has great new machines.

There were a few hiccups in our stay which are somewhat expected in a brand new hotel. Our rooms were not ready when we first got there but we just went around and did some work until they were done. They were very apologetic and made sure we got what room we wanted. At the end of our stay they got our rate wrong (Gov rate since we were there on business) and they couldn’t really figure out how to fix it. When they did figure it out it was just a rebate and did not reflect the gov rate. I am hoping my finance will not have a problem with presenting it that way and will not affect my reimbursement. When I mentioned it might be a problem no one seemed at all willing to help any further nor did they seem to care that I might have a problem. That kind of made me a little angry, like they no longer care now that I have already paid. A lot of the staff was really friendly though so it was half and half on customer service.

The internet is the worst part of this hotel. It is the slowest internet I have used. I could get online fine but the connection was extremely slow. My co-worker didn’t have as much luck, she told them she couldn’t connect and they told her that rooms on the 4th floor have that problem due to the distance. They had to bring a cable up and then she had to spend 20 minutes talking on the phone to tech support to figure it out. If you are here for work I would ask for a room that has good signal strength.

This is by far the cleanest and nicest (room wise) in Hutchinson. I have stayed at the Holiday Inn (smells like a dirty hotel with smoking and non-smoking rooms) and the Hampton Inn (smells like a pool but ok rooms). I think once they work out all the issues that are bound to come up in the first few weeks and months then it will be better. Hopefully they figure out the internet thing.

Room Tip: Lower floors have better internet connection
