“Quality Inn (Lack of Quality)!!!”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

I would like to inform all viewers to steer clear of this hotel... They are overpriced for the quality they offer in their establishment. I am thankful they offered a military discount bringing the total price to 72.14 dollars + 15.00 dollars for a 8lb dog (mini rat terror). For some reason they decided to put 3 pet rooms on the bottom floor (non-smoking) right in between smoking rooms. The whole bottom floor to include our room reaked of smoke!!!! We have smoke allergies. They said "sorry". The air conditioner was very loud with a clanking noise. The bathroom tub was disgusting and not well maintained, along with the hand hold inside the bathtub was broke but jerry rigged in place. The toilet wouldn't flush. The room decor was obviously a 1980's theme. Parking (or lack of) was ridiculous along with no security cameras outside.
On a positive note, the female clerk at the front was great!!! That made the stay worth the while and money. I must admit, I will never stay there again, as I am typically a "Holiday Inn Express" guest. They were the only option being they allow pets. After a 17 hour drive, I was just glad to find a hotel.

Room Tip: If you stay here, get a room on the second floor if you don't smoke. I took pics, but didn'...

Great news we have a new manager and all has been taken care of and we are also now 100% smoke free.

Made reservation here because they accept pets. Comforter stained and dirty. Dog went under bed came out with dust balls. Overall rest of inn was clean. Toaster only toasted bread one side. Parking is behind the inn and dimley lit. Room by stairs so heard stomping all night. Was not worth $89.00.

Quality & cleanliness do match now. That puppy will no longer find dust balls under the beds. New housekeepers and new manager mean clean room.

Older hotel with small bathroom but sink and counter in room. Good price includes continental breakfast. Waffel was the only warm item so we passed and stopped at MacDonalds for coffee and sausage biscuit to go just to get more road time.

The hotel staff was so friendly and very helpful with everything. My stay was wonderful and the room was very comfortable. The bed was extremely comfy. The breakfast in the morning was extensive and kept full. The front desk staff was great in recommending a restaurant and where to find the bison herd.

When you drive across western Kansas in the summer, you are going to be very hot and very tired. In case you haven't experienced the drive across I-70; the state is 1735 miles across.
More seriously, when you are driving across western Kansas the food and lodging pickings are going to be very slim, indeed.
This was a pleasant surprise. Clean, cool, well-appointed, not terribly expensive, and a more than serviceable free breakfast thrown in the next morning.

This hotel was a pretty old hotel, but fairly well kept up. Room was clean, but a little dated. Hotel allowed pets for a $15 each surcharge. If you have pets and can stay at a less than first class hotel, this one is ok. There really isn't much available in Hays Ks when it comes to hotels that allow pets. This is to bad since a lot of travelers take their small pets.

Arriving on a 109 degree day crossing Kansas by I-70 we'd opted for a "Choice Hotel Rewards Night" and couldn't have been more pleased with the results! Great experience. (When using the hard won "points" - a reward is hoped for and in no way did this fall short. Desk clerk was bright, good natured and gave good tips on what to order plus the hotel's 10%discount for dinner at Whiskey Creek Restaurant just down the road;nice pool and hot tub - delightfully not HOT- sparkling clean and refreshing. The size and layout of room was similar to a large suite in a much more expensive lodging. Fridge and microwave; desk; divided bathroom and nice lamps all around the large room.

Room Tip: Our room was on 2nd floor, right above the front desk - room 202 - you can't miss with that room...
