“Scrumptiously Crazy Place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

We celebrated our anniversary with a trip to Professor's (70 miles). So glad we made a reservation....the place was packed when we got there -- all tables in both rooms were occupied but the one waiting for us. The food was extremely good with the exception of my mashed potatoes that were a bit dry, even with the gravy. My husband said his 'twice-baked' potato was the best he'd ever eaten...which is how I felt about the homemade cheese cake. Oh, don't leave there without a slice!! We watched as the tables turned over at least twice and there was a reunion going on in the extra room, so it was bedlam at times.
We were disappointed that the staff didn't pace the food delivery better....we were only halfway through our appetizer when our meal came. And we had a sweet and attentive waitress, but she didn't clear any dishes or glasses until we made a request (even when a few friends stopped by and joined us at our table). But, when asked, she was great about it.

The Pluses: Great food, friendly staff (and plenty of them), full bar, room for a private party. casual atmosphere....sometimes entertainment on the stage.

The Minuses: Very noisy when busy (I could hear a conversation 3 tables away due to the noise bouncing off the walls), food not paced well for eating while hot.

Loved it. Excellent comfort foods and desserts. Diverse drink menu. Wait staff was amazing. Disappointed they were closed on Mondays.

Glad professors has kept the old menu. Love the homemade appetizers. Hopefully they keep getting quality beef.

“Locally raised beef”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2012

I love their steaks, which come straight from the Ellinwood meat-packing plant. Their wraps, salads, and sandwiches are all topnotch, too, along with a fine selection of beers, including the Fat Tire brand from Fort Collins, Colorado. Inside decor is fun, and the service is fast and friendly.
