We drove around Goodland trying to find a place for dinner on a Sunday. Our choices were fast food Mexican, pizza, Chinese and the 17th Street Diner. I refuse to eat at mid-Western Chinese (very bad experience involving excessive celery as the only vegetable) and weren't interested in Mexican or pizza, so we went in to the Diner. Positives: small salad bar included with the dinners, cheap prices (2 dinners with one beer : $25). I had fried chicken with potato and vegetable. The 2 pieces of chicken were small, but okay. The baked potato was fine, but the vegetable was canned, boiled in bacon green beans. My husband had hot beef and gravy over mashed potatoes with the same green beans. When his plate arrived the only thing you could see was gravy.
If there is a next time, we'll get a pizza.
