“Goodfood in a popular local restaurant.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2013

We were introduced to the restaurant by friends who live nearby. We enjoyed a super meal in a buzzy atmosphere. The owner gives a warm welcome and the menu is an interesting mix of the traditional (canard) and more unusual (lamb tagine). The evening was very good value, highly recommended.

“Excellent French Cuisine in St Julian De Lampon Dordogne.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2013

We were recommended to visit this restaurant by our friends, who live in Turnac. The menu reflected the local cuisine, all the food was presented beautifully and of a generous portion. The restaurant was nicely presented in a quite rural area, and was well supported by local and visitors to the Dordogne.
Well recommended...

“ĉi tiu loko estas grandaj!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013

This place was recommended to us by the owners of the gite we were staying in, it was our most enjoyable meal of our week in dordogne.
The restaurant is very bright, charming and warm inside. Tucked away in sainte julien lampon, not far from sarlat. The owner is very welcoming and friendly and speaks brilliant English - his wife is the chef, the building has been in his family since the 18th century.
We had the 25euro menu which was excellent value and consisted of 5 courses - soup, starter, main, cheese and dessert. Every plate was well presented and tasted amazing, the ingredients were fresh and locally sourced (in the case of my wife's lamb from the field beside the car park). My veal was cooked perfectly and my wife's chocolate brownie and custard was as good as I've tasted. The cheeseboard was also magnificent.
Our meal was great but was made all the better by the owner who was a really nice guy and introduced us to his Esperanto tutor and told us about his days hitch hiking through Scotland and the rest of Europe.
To summerise - 5 stars, brilliant host and excellent food. For us this place goes alongside canoeing the dordogne and visiting the grotes de padirac in our best bits of our visit to the Sud Ouest.

“Good Find in the Dordogne”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012

We first found this place two years ago, having spotted direction signs, incidentally it is just outside St Julien de Lampon. We stayed there again in late September 2012. The place is mainly a restaurant, but also offers rooms. The meals are excellent, really good value, and wine is available en carafe. The rooms are fairly basic, again very good value, no TV but we had an en suite bathroom. It's in a quiet location even for France. The owner speaks good English as well.
