So, you are fleeing Texas heat and eager to reach the fresh air of the Rocky Mountains. You need a layover in Kansas. The AmericInn found in Garden City will take care of that need. You will find clean rooms and a decent breakfast. Easy access from Hwy 83, and the motel is near restaurants and stores . . . but let's keep expectations in line. There's not THAT much to fire you up about the AmericInn. Would I return? Yes. Would I create a new Pinterest page about this motel? No.

Dear Mr. TravelTalker,

Thank you for choosing the AmericInn while traveling through our community and for letting others know about us on Trip Advisor. We are very easy to get to right off the highway and have a great restaurant next door so no need to drive any further. We have everything a large hotel has just a little smaller. We do have clean rooms and are proud of our hotel. Our lodge look with tall ceilings makes you almost feel like your in Colorado ski area. We are glad you will return and look forward to it!

Elk Grove, Californians,

Thank you so very much for such a wonderful comment! It confirms we are doing our job! It is a hospitality business and I as the manager expect everyone to give our guests the best we have in hospitality! It makes traveling for everyone so much more fun and relaxing. We look forward to having you stay as our guest again one day when in the wonderful state of Kansas and our community, Garden City.

All of the workers at this hotel took pride in their assignment and it was apparent. We traveled with a large group that occupied 22 rooms and were treated like royalty from the 1st day up until the last. There were a few minor mishaps, the hotel staff worked diligently to make sure each guest was taken care of around the clock. Although this is not the most modern facility, the lobby, guest rooms, and amenities were well maintained in clean condition and definitely worth the price. The pool and sauna was the highlight for both the kids and adults. Great for a extended stay as there is a Walmart across the street and a Sam's club in the rear of the hotel. There is also a Applebees and Freddy's just across the parking.

Room Tip: Our guest room was two double beds that occupied a family of four and was more than enough for us to be comfortable for a 7 day stay.

Dear Janet4749,

Thank you for taking the time to go to Trip Advisor and let others know about us. We are like a little secret in the southwest! Your group was also friendly and we enjoyed having you! We are still in the process of updating our hotel and so there will always be new changes as people come and go. Just had a group last weekend and they had not seen our new lobby furniture and they have been doing their reunion for the last 9 years here. The lobby was a great place for all of you to gather as is the pool area which is large and away from the sleeping rooms.
Look forward to having you again if you come to Garden City.

We've stayed at an AmericInn before and expected the same quality at the one in Garden City. Not disappointed. We were on our way back home and as we arrived just in time for the dinner hour, we were told we could get a 10% discount at several restaurants close by. We choose Applebee's and even though we ate at several different Applebee's in different cities, I might throw in the food was outstanding. Back to the real review....when we went to our room located on the second floor, we saw several teenage baseball players come out of the room next to ours. We thought, oh boy here we go....noise to keep us up in the middle of the night. Wrong! They had to be well-mannered boys in town for a tournament who thought enough to make other's stay comfortable. Flat-panel tv...hubby won't stay at a place without one. Continental breakfast top-notch. Bedding was luxurious; carpeting was fairly new and not the worn, dirty look, and the towels weren't the cheap thin kind. Wonderful stay and now we're off again taking daughter and grandson to the Dells, WI and guess where we're staying. Based on Trip Advisor's list of the 75+ hotels/motels in Dells, it rated it #28 but that didn't matter. I know what to expect out of an AmericInn.

Dear SusanShawnee_KS,

Thank you for giving us such a great response on Trip Advisor! We appreciate our guests letting others know how great of a place it is to stay. Applebee's is right next door for the tired travelers who don't want to drive any further and their food is great! We do have flat screen TV and three sheeting so our guests know that all the bedding gets cleaned after ever stay! We look forward to having you stay on your way through this are the next time you are in town.

We spent two nights in Garden City at the Americinn, and we enjoyed their breakfast both mornings. The woman in charge of the breakfast area kept things clean and restocked, and there were lots of choices including my favorite fresh waffles. There were also other hot breakfast items such as eggs, sausage, and biscuits and gravy. I'm not a coffee drinker, but they had choices of coffees, syrups and a hot beverage machine too. The rest of the hotel seemed to have the same philosophy--clean and restocked. We had two queen size beds in our room that were reasonably comfortable. The microwave and refrigerator were nice, and the towels were fluffy. The sink is in the same room with the bathtub, so expect foggy mirrors during showers. There is a large desk, with an unusually large rolling desk chair in our room. We were assigned a room on the first floor, and we never heard any noise from the floor above us. I discounted my rating because the cloth chair in our room was stained and looked like it needed to be replaced. Also the door was difficult to open. For some reason it opened by turning the lever handle up, rather than the more usual (and much easier) downward motion that most door handles use. We scraped a knuckle before we figured that one out! It is close to several other brand name hotels, but was the best value when I called them all. I would stay there again.

Dear okietraveler79,

So glad you had a great stay! We do have some wonderful people at our breakfast bar and a great variety! Housekeeping does a great job also and work hard. I am sorry about the chair, we are in the process of replacing all of them. It is very quiet and people do love that! We were also waiting on parts for the doors. Thank you for letting us know, but want to reassure you we are getting it taken care of and hope you will come back and see us again! We appreciate you and for letting others know we are a great place to stay!
