What a find. The rooms are a good size, stylish and very comfortable - good value for money. We were met with a warm welcome, good beer and lovely food. Actually, really, really good food. Locally sourced ingredients and a great menu. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

We have just returned home from a week in Wiltshire where we were married in a very small family ceremony. We chose to have our reception at The Seven Stars as it is close to my family home and we wanted somewhere which would offer good quality British food and a relaxed atmosphere. My parents have eaten at the pub several times and could vouch for the quality!

From the start of the planning Lincoln and Michael were extremely helpful and seemed to completely understand what we were looking for - we picked a menu to suit us and which was also flexible enough to accommodate children and picky guests! All the food was obviously very fresh and local and we really appreciated this.

Despite it being May the weather was slightly 'iffy', so it was wonderful to be greeted by a log fire. We arranged to arrive in the afternoon before the pub was due to open, and again this was not a problem.

The food was fantastic, the staff were amazing - including all the charming waitresses, the landlords and other staff. We really can't thank them enough for being so welcoming and lovely to all our guests and we will definitely return. I think my Dad is booking the same venue for an event later this year. The locals were also really friendly and chatted happily to us outside and at the bar, gently teasing my Mum about her fancy hat :)

We also stayed the night, and the room was comfortable and characterful and the breakfast was a superb remedy for my 'mild' hangover... Once again we were served by an extremely friendly young lady and the food was great.

Thanks all for giving us the best day we could ever have hoped for.

Three of us were cycling the Kennet and Avon Cycleway and we stopped at the Seven Stars for the night. We stayed in the Loft and Wooden Rooms and had dinner in the pub.

We were able to store our bikes in a shed that was kept locked. The rooms were fine. We drank the Doombar bitter and agreed that this was the best pint of Doombar we had tasted. It was kept well. A nice choice of dishes for dinner. We chose Goat's Cheese, Asparagus and Pork terrine for starters and Pork Belly and Haddock and Chips for main. It was excellent. We had scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast and it was superb.

A great place to eat and drink and a good b&b.

We had never visited before but were meeting friends who had visited many times before. The food was excellent, the choice and quality was great, the only slight down side children may not appreciate the food as its not plain and basic, saying that the adults thoroughly enjoyed the meal and would defiantly return. A very popular restaurant in the middle of stunning countryside with good service.

My husband and I visited here on valentines day evening. It was recommended by a friend, and it did not disappoint. Very friendly staff upon arriving, and throughout the evening, we were made to feel very welcome. The food arrived promptly, and was all very flavoursome. We are coming back for Sunday lunch!

Our third visit to The Seven Stars speaks for itself. Michael, the owner/landlord is engaging and welcoming in this pub/restaurant/B&B. A charming and warm interior instantly erased the cold winter night outside and even the other customers seem to want you to enjoy the place with friendly smiles and banter. The small bar can get busy but there is no pushing and shoving here!

The restaurant spreads across the building and tables can be large or small for romantic dinners. Our party of 12 (4 children and 8 adults) for a birthday celebration were shown to a larger table by the bustling, efficient and overall friendly (there's that word again!) waitresses. If you are on that side of the restaurant, don't forget the specials board across the other side...it is well worth it even though the a la carte menu itself is superb. The specials included pan seared scallops with black pudding, walnut crusted goats cheese with a beautiful salad, risotto and a few others. All were ordered, all were great.

For the mains, my rib-eye steak was beautiful and cooked (rare) as ordered. Accompanied by crisp chips and a well dressed salad, it was a pleasure to eat each mouthful. One beef wellington (from the specials board) ordered was slightly (only slightly) overcooked. The pork belly was crisp on top and melting on the tongue with a really good mash. Burgers were consumed by the children and looked fantastic...I will try these next time. I was so engrossed in my own meal that I have forgotten what the other guests had but the general agreement around the table was that it was very, very good.

Desserts were also good but difficult to eat after the large portions! However, due to a couple of our friends who had ordered but couldn't finish, I was able to sample the bread and butter pudding AND the citrus tart. Honestly, you want to make sure you leave room for these too. A candle in the birthday boy's dessert and a resounding "Happy Birthday" from all (including other customers!) finished a perfect evening.

A good wine selection and very reasonable prices for both food and drink meant that the evening was (again) enjoyed by all including the bank account. In an area where there are several choices for good pubs, this one will be the one we visit most frequently. Michael, to you and your staff, a big thank you. You have a great chef and waiting staff and a very special place. See you again soon!

A great overnight stop at the Seven Stars, the owner gave us a very friendly welcome and showed us to our rooms personally. There were 5 in our group, spending the weekend fishing we needed a base and were amazed by the quality of the rooms. The pub and restaurant was very busy indeed, we were glad that we booked. The food was top notch and the range of ales on tap was excellent, although we finished the barrel of Doom Bar pretty much between our party. I would certainly recommend this venue and wish they well for the future, we might very well be back next fishing season!
