“a great pub with lovely food”
Reviewed April 7, 2012

i took my mum for mothers day. We had not visited for some time so thought a return visit was due. Having booked a table, we arrived and were seated promptly. They were very busy with it being mothers day, but we were told we could have the table for two hours, which was plenty of time to have our meal.

My mum is a vegetarian and so doesn't always get much of a choice. Well, I have to say, she had a wonderful choice of dishes. There were 9 on the menu PLUS another 3 on the specials board. She has never had that much choice before.

We ordered our food and waited. Despite them being so busy, it was not a long wait. The food was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. The staff were very attentive and well mannered. The sweet was equally as nice as our main course.

All in all, it was a lovely experience and we have visited since to celebrate a family birthday and again been delighted with our meals.

A lovely pub, where the staff are warm and helpful, with a wonderful attmosphere, great food and excellent value for money.

“lovely pub, with good pub grub.”
Reviewed March 17, 2012

This is a well run and clean, inviting pub. We have been here many times over the last several years and always come away feeling we have been well feed and watered. The food is pub grub and the price is average for these parts. You pay for your food when ordering at the bar and then the food is brought to your table, so i dont know what the other reviewer is on about, think they may of got confussed with somewhere else?

“Average - expected more”
Reviewed February 13, 2012

Called in here for a bite to eat - loads to choose from, from light bites to mean courses.

The food was nice but chips could have done with a bit longer - staff very helpful and friendly, would go back.
