Recently visited the Royal Oak using a Groupon voucher.
We struggled to believe the value!

Excellent steaks (OK they forgot the onion rings) but the two course meal was excellent.

Butty Bach beer and nice house wine

Friendly staff and an all round nice place

We visited the royal oak on a sunday afternoon. We ordered a roast beef dinner and my hudband had the salmon.
Both meals were excellent hot, quick service and could not fault anything! I highly recommend the royal oak!!!!

We stumbled on this delightful pub / restaurant on Good Friday afternoon whilst looking for somewhere to eat. To our delight they were still serving. The landlady was so welcoming and friendly and we sat in the bar next to the log fire in comfy chairs and soaked up the delighful country atmosphere. The food was simply excellent, the service attentive yet discrete and we met some of the friendly locals. This is an excellent example of just how to run a country pub! Well worth a visit.

We live locally to The Royal Oak and find the food delicious with plenty of choice. The owners Paul and Sarah are delightful and the waitresses helpful and charming. There is a lovely log fire in there so it is comfortable and relaxed. We go there most weeks and sometimes twice as they also do a Saturday breakfast which is well worth trying!

Only a little off the beaten track, but I have stayed at the Oak now on a couple of occasions ... Now this is how you would imagine a Country Pub & Restaurant should look and be run.
Well done to the new management and staff, the Oak has been given the most tasteful makeover I could imagine for the place.

Thoroughly recommend a night out there, the restaurant, or even a stay in their converted Stable Block at the rear ..

There always seems to live music at weekend also so worth asking what is coming up if planning a weekend ... always good bands, most enjoyable.

Beware the pickled Onions and Eggs are to die for !!!!!!!
