This is a very decent watering hole, with a lovely terrace and garden to sit in and the added interest of the pottery shop opposite. We had both lunch and dinner there, and as other reviewers have commented, the service can be a little slow and unpredictable. However, the food is pretty good, and the ambience and welcome is excellent. We were a large group and so had pre-ordered a buffet with chicken and fish, rice and vegetables, which was excellent. For lunch the next day the egg and bacon toasted sandwiches or the chicken mayo sandwiches were both nice. Beware the tea (loose in the pot, no tea strainer) but the coffee was apparently very good. All in all, very much to be recommended in a place where there aren't many choices. As others have said, if you want to visit the pottery, order food and drink first and then visit the shop whilst it is being prepared.

We enjoyed the delicious food and beautiful sights here. I would recommend ordering your food then going to the pottery store to do your shopping while your food is being prepared. This place is truly a beautiful and fun place to visit. An absolute must if you are in the area!

About an hour and a half drive from Lilongwe. A beautiful, scenic drive. Very tasty lunch. Enjoy browsing through the small pottery shop while you wait for your meal to arrive. A very low-key pleasant way to spend a free day with good friends.

For good quality food in Dedza, stop here, there aren't many other places in town where you'll get it (the only other one I know of is the Mapiri Country Golf Lodge).

We stopped here prior to a hike up Dedza Mountain.

Overall the food was very good - we had various dishes such as Persian Goat, Ginger Chicken and Stir Fry Beef. The meat was well-cooked, the rice was light and fluffy and the vegetables were tender and fresh.

This place is famous for its cheesecake and was actually the reason we decided to come here. You won't be disappointed!

The only reason I am docking one full star was because the serve was lacking and unfriendly. No smiles, not even a grunt to acknowledge our order. For half our party, they got the order wrong, so half of us were left eating while the others waited for theirs to be prepared again. The staff rarely came around to check in on us! With those personalities, one wonders why they were hired!

The pottery lodge on site is worth a visit. Some nice souvenirs.
