“Glad we went”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

I wanted to stop and see the Bridges of Madison County (we were travelling from Denver home to MI) which we did but since we were in Winterset, I thought we might as well go see John Wayne's birthplace. The tour was short but our guide was very informative and seemed like she really enjoyed her job. So, I'm glad we stopped and it didnt' take much time.

“Nice tour, doesn't take long and only 20 minutes south of I-80”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

It is a small house in the heart of town. Doesn't take long to take the tour. It was informative and you can also go see the covered bridges when you are there.

“Interesting”

We love John Wayne so it was a must see although we didn't actually get to go inside--it was closed. But we did see the home from the street and the bronze statue-just a little slice of history from a young man who made his way to the big time
