My husband and I initially booked a suite here for 1 night. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Mary, the owner, and she showed us our suite - it was actually half of a cottage with such tranquility and a great water view that we immediately booked in for a second night!! The suite was great! 4-poster bed, hot tub for 2, kitchen/living area, propane fireplace, etc. The restaurant at the inn next door was amazing! Having had 2 breakfasts there and a 4 course supper, it's very safe to say we will be heading back there again and have been recommending the place since we returned home!! Loved every moment there, especially their resident cat Shadow!!

On our tour of Nove Scotia/ PEI we stayed just one night in one of the wonderful cottages. How we wished we stayed longer. The view across the wild flower meadow towards PEI was breathtaking. The evening meal was equal to the best we had in our 15 days. We felt we couldn't do justice to to 'full Canadia' breakfast but our special request for blueberry pancakes was met and they were delicious.
The cottage was very specious and well equiped. It would have been the perfect place to relax and unwind for a few days

My friend and I have been coming here from the US for over 20 years. We spend two weeks at the Inn Cottage and are anxiously awaiting for our July date again this year. The Lasby's are the greatest and can't do enough to make to a vacation by the sea memorable.

The Amherst Country Shore Inn was our first stop on a trip to PEI and was a real pleasure.

We had booked a suite in the Inn but as it was not full that evening the proprieter kindly upgraded us at no cost to a chalet with all the goodies one could want

It was comfortable and scrupulously clean. The location is superb on the Northumberland Strait and the chalet had a great view over the water.

Dinner was a real treat,as was breakfast.

A definite "do again"

The Amhest Country Inn offers a package with dinner as well as the bed and breakfast. The food was truly first class and the service was exceptional. We were served cocktails in the parlor before dinner and then shown into the dining room, which overlooked the sea. A small fire was burning, which was a nice touch on a fall evening. Soft classical music added the finishing touch.
Breakfast was in the same room, and a fire was burning then, as well--a really nice accompaniment on a brsik morning. The food was perfectly prepared and presented--all homemade from the scones (heavenly) on down.
The only downside was the whole place came across as rather dark--our room was done in blues and grays, and while comfortable and clean, seemed a bit dated. The furniture in our suite was very comfortable, and the place was blissfully quiet, which after a long day on the road was a big plus. The beach was lovely, and offered a nice walk in the morning. We found it rather rocky for swimming, but the water was still warm enough in late September, so this was a pluis.

This is an inn with a split personality. The natural setting is as lovely as you'll find anywhere, near the shore adjoining a beautiful country field. The dining room, meal and presentation were also top-notch. The staff was fantastic. But I have to offer my one significant criticism - the rooms are about ten years past due for an upgrade! The first feeling you get upon entering is that of a really fancy Best Western. The A/C was louder than an AC/DC show, mosquitos seemed to be using our room as a time-share, and for the price we paid, it just didn't measure up to similarly-priced inns on our trip. Until they upgrade the rooms or lower the price, I suggest go for the meal, stay somewhere else.

I first visited this Inn by recommendation, and have returned many times since. The Inn is located on a beautiful beach, with an incredible view. There are many options for rooms- in the main house, or in beautifully equipped (fireplace, jaccuzzi) suites, or in a number of cottages (from rustic two story "family" vacation retreates to seclueded two bedroom cottages) all right on the beach- which is warm enough to swim in (which is a bonus in NS). Additionally, the dining room offers first class and award winning cuisine (desserts to die for and they grow plenty of the fresh produce on site). This is an incredible getaway from it all- highly recommended.
