As we pulled into the driveway of Country Stiles Bed and Breakfast, Mike and Sari Stiles came out onto the porch to greet us as though we were family members. The place is immaculate and they take great pride in their home. The restoration that Mike and Sari have done to this 125+ year-old home is one of the most impressive I've seen. The pastel palette is soothing inside and out. Sari thought of everything when equipping their home including washcloths and hand towels for removing make up, a spa basket and Lysol wipes in the shared bathroom (two of their 4 rooms share a bathroom), hair driers and flashlights in the rooms, bathrobes, sodas and bottled water in the refrigerator, a washer and dryer for guest use, and a hot tub out back. The pastoral setting of the property among scenic farmlands is beautiful.

We had our 2 year old daughter with us and they made up a cot for her in our room. They had toys for our daughter to play with, made a special breakfast for her, allowed her to play with their Tupperware. They made a special effort to allow our daughter to play with Molly, their well -behaved dog. Mike and Sari love kids.

The breakfast was delicious. All of the ingredients were locally sourced or grown on property. We started with juice, water, coffee, and tea. Then came homemade cranberry orange scones accompanied by 2 homemade jams (blueberry and strawberry), real butter and local maple butter. Next was vanilla yogurt with puréed strawberry sauce and granola parfaits. The main course brought homemade spinach and ham quiche with a side of local tomatoes, an orange slice and fresh cucumber. The whole experience was relaxing and pleasing to the palatte.

We enjoyed soaking in their hot tub with provided towels under the night sky. Mike kindly kept checking on us and offering refills on our beverages.

We were able to use their washer/dryer for 2 loads of laundry at no cost which was an incredible perk as we were traveling for 8 days with a toddler.

Another nice touch was their reading nook with books that we could take with us.

Bowls of hard candies were set out in each room as well as common areas.

When we packed up to leave, Mike and Sari insisted on taking our picture on their porch, which we thought was a nice touch and quite smart. They sent us on our way with scones, drinks and jelly beans for our daughter. When my father left his laptop in the foyer, Mike came chasing after us in his car to return it.

The Stiles truly made you feel as though you were staying with family and encouraged mingling among guests. There were four adults in our group, and all of us agreed that it was our best bed and breakfast stay ever.

We felt totally refreshed and were reluctant to leave this perfect example of friendship and hospitality. A++++++ stay!

We spent three nights at Sari and Mike's beautiful B & B in late August. Along with being a beautifully restored house...it was perfectly located for various excursions that we need to do during our holiday. We were sent off every morning with full belly's, and extra scones in a bag for afternoon snacks. Gorgeous room, and our own private bathroom completed the first class experience. Mike and Sari are truly wonderful people...loved every minute of our stay. Stay here...you will not be dissapointed!

We were back this year to take our daughter to nearby Mount Allison University. She was only with us there one night (in the Sandy Shores room) but it was enough for her to enjoy a very long evening soak in the claw foot tub. As we left after a wonderful full breakfast the next morning she said, "Is it my imagination or is everything perfect here?" My husband and I enjoyed two more nights in the Fields of Green room. The bed was omg so comfortable and the bedding was super soft. We were also able to make good use of the hot tub for two nights, one cloudy and one star filled, both with offers of glasses of wine from our hosts. Breakfasts were exactly what we have come to expect from Mike and Sari (my daughter posted pics in last year's review) and of course we were sent away each day with baked goodies -- scones and/or muffins. Mike and Sari are wonderful B&B hosts, friendly, knowledgeable, and oh so kind. They pressed our daughter to call them while she's at university, to be her Nova Scotia parents. When I had contacted Sari in the spring to make reservations, I asked about her ideas for celebrating our wedding anniversary while we were there. She recommended and made reservations for NovaShores sea kayaking outfitter in Advocate Harbour and the Wild Caraway Restaurant both excellent choices (and reviewed elsewhere). I'm so glad to see from the number of excellent reviews added here since last year, that Country Stiles is now receiving the notice it deserves.

By chance we ended up with a last minute reservation for the Country Stile B n B. We had no idea what we'd find. I phoned to say we'd be later than expected, but to please save our room. We were cheerfully told no problem. When we arrived, Sari was on the porch waiting to greet us and carry our bags inside despite our insistence that we were okay. After a tour of the beautifully restored home, we and the other couple there were treated to a super delicious warm blueberry crumble and ice cream dessert and wine which Sari and Mike make. They shared lots of great information about the history of the area and the house.
Great room with lots of nice touches... bathrobes for our walk across the hall to our private bathroom, a carafe of fresh water on the dressing table...
Breakfast was another treat. Fresh ground beans for coffee, homemade raspberry scones, fresh fruit and yogurt parfait... and then a main! Lovely egg topped with brie and thin pear slices - artfully done.
Both Mike and Sari have the art of hosting down to a science! Their home is warm and inviting and absolutely spic and span. They couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. Sari even insisted on tending to a load of wash so that we could get on our way to explore the area. (She was assisting another late visitor with his laundry at midnight the night before!)
Our one night stay became two and had we time, we would have stayed longer. I highly recommend Country Stiles!

Room Tip: Each room was so nicely done, I would stay in any of them. The room we chose had a private bath whic...

We spend two nights at Sari and Mike's beautifully restored Victorian house and were completely spoiled!
The heartfelt hospitality and interest was overwhelming and felt like a warm bath (just like their hottub in the backyard!). They serve a wonderful breakfast with lots of homemade goodies and during the rest of the day we were offered all kinds of other treats like a glass of their own wine and lovely cakes.
The rooms are all very light and roomy but yet cosy and well appointed. The private bathrooms across the hall were luxurious and spot clean, as was the rest of the house. The whole place looks very pretty with antique furniture, shining wooden floors and lovely views of the surrounding countryside. The house is situated in a good spot between Joggings Fossil Cliffs and Amherst and not far from the highway.
Again, this is a wonderful place to treat body and soul, but what I"ll remember most are the best hosts you could possibly wish for!

Room Tip: All rooms are equally beautiful, just pick the colourscheme you like best.

We stumbled onto this B&B heading into Nova Scotia and our family were warmly greeted by Mike and Sari at the door. It is beautiful home on a quiet property which has been amazingly restored. Attention to detail was incredible throughout our stay and the breakfast was truly incredible. We were travel worn parents with a 2 year old and upon arrival a playpen was set for child and wine was waiting for parents. Best 'non-seafood' we had in Nova Scotia (although we did get Salmon Eggs Benedict along with the best blueberry scones). At the end of our 2 week trip, we had to stop in again for our final night stay in Nova Scotia knowing we would be well rested and fed for the long journey home. A must stay for a visit to Nova Scotia!

Room Tip: One room as a private bath which can be requested for a small additional cost.

These people are doing everything right, and I am not just saying that because of the free wine when we arrived. This was the cleanest house I have ever been in. The breakfast was lovely, the bedroom was comfortable, and we woke up to a sunny country morning with the next-door rooster crowing. This is a place to go out of your way for, if you are in, say, Canada...
