I went to visit the family I stayed with back in 1977 in Trípoli, Iowa coming from Chicago. I wanted to show Amana Colonies and the Amish comunity to my wife so would be better to find a place in the área. What a fortune to us to choose the Heritage Inn to stay after and before days of long walks. Sandi is a so warm and nice person and make you feel like you're at home. We arrived late at night and this was no problem at all. We had our room ready and very spacious, confortable, clean and fresh. He indicated places we could find something to eat not so far away. Silence is another thing that I care much in a hotel and this was perfect. Breakfast is in another place close by and above average. We were ready to keep going after nice french toasts and pancakes. Whenever I go back to this área I will certainly stay in Heritage Inn again. Thanks for everything Sandi. Marcio.

We stayed here March 4th, 2013. We only stopped because it was late and my husband was exhausted. The parking lot was very icy, which when we advised the desk person of this, he said it's only going to get worse with the snowstorm coming and to "just be careful". Our room was freezing, because to save costs, the owner did not run the heat and had guests turn it on when they arrived. The room was dirty, dust behind the doors, hair in the tub and sink and it smelled of old food and coffee. The bed was old, lumpy and barely knee high from the floor (I am 5'6"). Horrible property.

My husband and I make a trip to the Amana Colonies every February, this year being no exception. Normally we have stayed at the Wasserman Water Park Motel but have found it to be too crowded, noisy and dirty in the past few years. So this year we switched over to the Heritage Inn, hoping for the best. And that's what we got. The owner, Sandhi greeted us warmly and supplied us with extra coffee for our room. The room was typical (formerly Country Inn Suites), nothing fancy but more than accommodating for our needs. We just really need a room for sleeping since most of our time is spent in the Colonies, shopping and eating. We did have a minor complaint to Sandhi about the coffee maker running very slowly and suggested (in a note left in the room) that he either replace or "vinegar" the maker. When we got home I had an email from Sandhi indicating he had credited our card $10 for our inconvenience and was very appreciative for the feedback, This greatly impressed me although I felt bad because I know how tough the lodging business is and this is a very slow time of year for this area of the country. We will return next year and highly recommend this motel. If you are going to the Amanas for the food, request a "no hot breakfast" and you will save some money.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. It was very comfortable, cozy, and quiet. The owner was very welcoming and friendly! We did not use all the amenities in the facility, but everything we saw appeared to be in very good condition. Our room was very clean and well maintained. Sandi took very good care of us!! Since there were 5 people in our room, we were always in need of something - extra towels, blanket, pillow, cups, coffee - it didn't matter; all we had to do was ask and he came through immediately! The beds were a bit firmer than we are used to, but the mattresses were very good quality. We realize that it would be almost impossible to please everyone's mattress preference so that was a minor thing. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area! Joe and Sue Cash

Stayed just one night at this inn, but it was comfortable and the owner was very friendly and personable. The room was clean and it was great place to stay while visiting the Amana Colonies and the local area. The complimentary breakfast at the nearby Colony Village Restaurant was also a pleasant surprise - a filling meal of eggs, bacon, pancakes and coffee! Very recommendable!
