This hotel is best avoided. I traveled to Des Moines on business and was booked to stay at this Sheraton. I was very disappointed. Upon arrival, I was first ignored at the counter while other quests who arrived after me were helped; I was right in front of the clerk yet was not serviced. Then I was told no rooms were available and I was unable to check in. Okay, no big deal, I'm early.... However, the flight crew from my flight, plus about 6 others were given rooms immediately. Rooms were available... After killing a couple hours I returned. I was told very rudely by a different employee that i would not be able to have a room until three at the earliest even if they were available. They simply didn't even want to attempt to accommodate me. I called the Hilton from the lobby and was told a room would be ready for me by the time I made the 10 minute drive. After returning home, I reached out to corporate Sheraton to voice my concern regarding the manner in which I was neglected and, two weeks later, am yet to hear anything from the company. Frankly, If the hotel doesn't value my business they don't deserve it. You will be able to find nicer, more modern, equally conveniently located lodging in West Des Moines and I recommend you do so.
