I've loved Ohana's Steakhouse since I was ten years old. When it was my birthday my parents NEVER had to ask me where I wanted to eat. Ohana means family--and they treat their customers as such. This restaurant knows that when you treat your customers well and make sure they enjoy themselves, they will come back.
The food may be a tad pricey, but they give you your money's worth. A common misconception for this place is that they will have authentic Japanese food. This is not the case--Ohana's cooks American food, JAPANESE-STYLED. They offer steak, shrimp, scallops, chicken, and veggie alternatives. The scallop sauce is LEGENDARY. I've seen people request the sauce on the side. I am one of them. Their shrimp and chicken is their best, in my opinion.
You are given miso and salad to start. You automatically get shrimp, veggies, a choice of fried or steamed rice, and noodles included in your meal. Your choice comes from your drink and your main choice in food. Normally people are too stuffed for dessert--but they offer some tasty after dinner treats. Kids also have a separate menu, including dessert. This is a GREAT special occasion for kids, they will have a BLAST here.
If you are having a special occassion or a party, this is the place to go. Chefs will do knife tricks, and make it fun for you while he cooks your food for you. They have a great bar selection, as well. The bar is usually crowded with people waiting to be serviced, though.
I do not recommend this restaurant to people who are searching for something budget-friendly or just need a 'quiet meal'. Ohana is all about having fun and they will more than likely seat you with other people if there is less than six people in your group. Do not expect a private meal. In other words--expect to be with a crowd, and expect noise.
