This was our second visit to Newtons and will become our "go to" place to take people from out of town. We had people in from New Jersey that each time they come back they are always asking for a good Iowa Tenderloin this visit floored them. They couldn't believe the quality of the sandwich and size for the price. There are very few adults that can eat one by themselves or need too. Usually two adults can split a sandwich and walk away full. Kids ordered breakfast and were very happy with that and it looked great.
They make food fresh daily and use as much local as they can.
Visitors have already requested to go back in the summer when they travel back to Iowa!

If you love walleye, this is the best in the area. It's fresh, flaky, and the light breading is wonderful. Husband ordered angus burger. He's been ona search for the best burger and this one is the best in the area. He ordered it medium and it was cooked perfect. He can't find that anywhere else in the area. Brother ordered steak. I've had steak here, and it was yummy. Kudos to the chef. Highly recommended.

I treated my daughter and grandson to brunch at Bewton's Paradise Cafe. The atmosphere was casual, the waite staff were friendly and the food was tasty. The plates were stylish with well prepared meals. Our bill was $32 including gratuity.

Ate lunch on a Saturday- one of the best (and most beautiful) spinach salads I've ever had! Menu doesn't offer grilled chicken on it, but when I asked, the waitress said, "No problem". My husband's large garden salad was great, too. Others got grilled cheese and fries- sandwiches looked great (lots of cheese and grilled to perfection-one is enough to share) and my taste test of their fries proved they were excellent, too! We shared a giant piece of carrot cake- enough for four!- and it was very good (could use some raisins and nuts though).
Love the whole concept of them repurposing a Newton's Jewelry store into a restaurant- I grew up in the Iowa, so was familiar with Newton's and you can see the ghost of the old store still present in the building's facade. And the fresh local ingredients concept is evident on the plates! Got a table right away- took a little longer to get our food, but was well worth the wait once it arrived. Friendly and professional staff. Hope to go back next time I'm in Iowa! Hope the locals keep it in business!!!

Newton's Paradise Café is what you would expect from a café in Heartland of America in the 1960s. I am a little prejudice because I did live in Waterloo in the 1960s. The menu has a great selection of items. This not just your meat and potatoes menu. They serve Breakfast, Lunch, and dinner. You can check their daily specials on their website. I took my family there for lunch on a Sunday. The servers are very friendly. But of course it is hard to find someone that is not friendly in Waterloo Iowa. The food as delivered without much wait and everything was fresh and tasted great. There was plenty of food. This restaurant is located in the old Newton's Jewelry building in downtown Waterloo near the old Black's Department store on block from the Cedar River. Waterloo has improved the downtown area with a very nice river walk. If you are in Waterloo you should stop be and check out this Café.
