“This is more than a truck stop”
Reviewed December 21, 2011

Iowa 80 Truckstop (iowa80truckstop.com) bills itself as the world’s largest truck stop. Located along Interstate 80 at the mile marker 284 interchange, Iowa 80 is, indeed, huge.
It's like a self-contained city within the city of Walcott, Iowa.
Truckers love the place for the Truckomat truck wash, CAT scale, game room, library, sleeping rooms, private showers, movie theater, washers and dryers, TV den, 24-hour service center and road service.
But you don't have to be a truck driver to find a reason to visit Iowa 80.
The facility has fuel, restrooms, snacks, a food court, a restaurant and a 50,000-item store whose highlights are gifts and chrome items.
There are Sunday church services; a Dogomat pet wash; an embroidery, vinyl and laser engraving service; a Verizon kiosk; ATMs; UPS/ FedEx drop boxes; a fax/copy service; a mailbox; Western Union service; and pay phones. Oh, yes, there's even a barber, dentist and chiropractor!
Since 1979, Iowa 80 has paid tribute to truckers two days each July at its free Walcott Truckers Jamboree. And you'll find a huge collection of antique trucks year round right next door at the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum.
Perhaps the best part about Iowa 80 Truckstop is that it never closes.

“Interesting place to stop and stretch your legs”
Reviewed October 27, 2011

I like to try to make my pit stops interesting on road trips, so I gave this place a try. I was not able to stay long enough to check out the museum, but I was able to browse around the main building. It has a food court so you have options, and there is shopping galore...of typical rest area items and then some for both general travelers and long haul truckers. They even have showers, theatre, church, dentist and chiropractor. It did make for an interesting stop and I will probably try to check out the museum next time. I gave this place a very good rating because of food options and clean bathrooms (always a plus!).

“Worth a Stop if Passing By”
Reviewed October 24, 2011

We stopped here during a visit to the Quad Cities area (actually the drive gave my son 20 minutes or so to nap). We saw this on a Travel Channel show and thought it would be fun to visit since we were close by, and it was worth it.

They had two semi's on display that you can get into and climb around (my toddler loves that). Other than that, its just a really big truck stop. They have a food court, coffee shop, large resturant, lots of shopping, and the famed dentist.

If passing by on I-80 I would definitely stop by! Afterall, its free :)

“Check it off the bucket list!”

A nice break in the monotony of driving through Iowa! Great gift shop! Has a dentist office and a movie theater, truck showroom, museum and several dining options. Worth a stop!
