Owner description: The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum was a dream of Iowa 80 Truckstop founder Bill Moon. His love for trucks and the trucking industry laid the foundation for this museum. Over 60 vintage trucks are on display, as well as antique signs and gas pumps. The museum also features the REO Theatre where visitors can enjoy watching films about trucks and trucking.

“Unexpected surprise”
Reviewed December 21, 2011

Our roadtrip took us through Le Claire Iowa and after a recommendation by Robbie from Antique Archaeology we pulled into the Truck stop not really sure what to expect (except of course some big trucks!!) Well it was definately worth the stop and we didn't mind the extra 2 hours it added to our journey that day. The kids (6 & 3) loved wandering around and had soo many questions about trucks from "the olden days". The oil display in the foyer is pretty impressive too. A really clean, and impressive museum. We loved it!!

“If you like trucks then this is the place.”
Reviewed June 24, 2011

We stop there on our way to Milwaukee and to see what this was all about. This is the largest truck stop in the world. It is huge. It has restaurants (road trip food), movie teathers, showers, hair cut services, shops/souvenirs, clothing for truckers, toys, and chrome...lots of it. They have a big truck inside with a colorful road map of the US. You can also see how this drivers park their trucks and (if you are lucky like us) they even let you come inside and check it out! If you pass by you should stop and get a tacky (but interesting) taste of the truck world!

“Antique truck museum is fun and free”
Reviewed October 7, 2009

The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum (iowa80truckingmuseum.com) at the Walcott interchange, mile marker 284, along Interstate 80 in eastern Iowa is a fantastic family destination. My wife and I took our grandson and granddaughter there, and they both loved the display of old trucks. There's a theater with continuous videos about trucking, lots of gas station signs and other trucking memorabilia. I particularly liked the collection of restored antique gas pumps. Take your camera! The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum also has a visitor center with clean rest rooms and a gift shop. The place is open daily Wednesdays through Sundays, but here’s the best part: Admission is FREE! The museum is right next to the world’s largest truck stop, Iowa 80 Truckstop, and there are three hotels and a bunch of restaurants at the interchange.
