“Small portions”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

I like to meet my gal pals here for lunch because the food is good and the price is right, but dinner is a different story. Our husbands don't likr to eat here because the prices are high and they leave hungry.

“Unique location, unique food”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

I love that they change their menu and source some food locally. Plus I can honestly say that their gelato is the best I've had, and that includes the gelato we had in Italy. It is such a treat to have access to this quality of dining in a smaller town, and they have a variety of price points on the menu, so you don't need to spend a ton. The restaurant is located in an old church that was moved the river banks and raised up to allow room for businesses underneath (and give a better view of the river and park outside their windows)

“Atmosphere is wonderful, but the pricing and amount of food is not so wonderful”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

I love the church setting, but please realize that it's a hike to get up the stairs. They have a chair lift if you want to use that. We tried their Mother's Day brunch and left hungry, broke and not impressed. We've eaten there a few other times and found the ala carte menu expensive for the amount of food you get. The taste is good, the concept is excellent, but I think they have a ways to go before it'll make the top 10 list. For Spencer, Iowa, it's a definite plus.

“Gem of Iowa”
Reviewed June 7, 2012

Chef trained in Nappa Valley and Chicago has put Spencer ,Iowa on the foodie map of Iowa. The views from the waterside room are quite relaxing. The wait staff is very attentive. The food was very flavorful and very well prepared. The timing was perfect . We found the portions to be quite ample. The prices are very fair. We celebrated our anniversary and it was very memorable. Thank you Trisha and Jeremy for the wonderful evening! We will be back again.

“A new and possible gem, currently in the rough, waiting to emerge.”
Reviewed May 22, 2012 via mobile

Just to start, neither tables nor seats were cleanly wiped dow in our booth, and a relatively inattentive wait staff that seem like new hires rather than experienced wait staff.

The food was flavorful and well prepared though the sandwich was a little skimpy on the corned beef. The side salad greens with the vinaigrette was fantastic!

The atmosphere is aching to be developed and has a ton of potential but is rather spartan for now.

I'd like to see where they go when they finish developing the space.
