Entertaining, enlightening, intersting experience and the whole thing is free! (You can help support by donating money as you leave.)

The book shop is terrific. If you are a Lewis & Clark scholar, do not miss it. The movie is well worth the time to view it.

The Betty Strong Center next door has numerous photographs also worth viewing.

The grounds have native prairie plants.

The Center is closed on Mondays.

It is a very interesting center. You can learn a lot about Lewis and Clark and the surrounding area. It is next to the Missouri River, a nice park with a playground and walking, bicycle trail, boat ramp not too far away and a Welcome Center. The center is also good for kids.

The Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center is a must-see for anyone visiting Sioux City, passing through, or even those who live here. The historical information about the Louisiana Purchase Expedition is a very important part of the history of the United States, especially as it relates to Western Expansion and the history within the Jefferson Presidency. Schoolchildren throughout the local area visit regularly to learn more about this time in history and everyone loves Seaman, the Expedition's best friend! Take the time to visit, and then in nice weather, you can have a picnic lunch at the Riverfront Anderson Dance Pavilion, which is beautifully landscaped and welcoming to visitors as well.

I went with a resident of Sioux City who wanted me to know more about Louis and Clark's stay in the area. The Center was very well presented with multiple displays recalling the actual history of the event. A must see if in or near Sioux City.

Lovely site on the river, nice gardens, wildlife statues, ample things to see and do at the center. Staff were great - wonderful stop for whole family.
