We used the Royal Amsterdam Hotel for our Reunion Headquarters on July 12, 13 and 14. The Monarch is not normally open on Sunday. The manager, Kellie, was willing to open if we could guarantee 35 guests. We had guaranteed 62 for Brunch; we ended up with 80. There was no time to call ahead from the Chapel Service to alert the staff that more people wanted to come without reservations. They were so gracious in allowing everyone to be seated (after setting up more tables) and, just like magic, the food appeared for all of those extra folks! The wait staff were so friendly and accommodating too. We had selected a two-meat buffet with all of the trimmings. The roast beef was exceptional. The pork loin, which can sometimes be dry, was a hit with everyone. The quantity and quality of the food were never compromised with the increase in people to feed. We literally had no complaints and that's extraordinary given the job of satisfying 80 people! The Baklava was a special treat. One of the guests at our table remarked that her only mistake was not taking two pieces instead of one!! The Hotel is near downtown Pella, and on the beautiful Molengracht, which offers a lovely view. Being able to end our Reunion on such a positive note was a blessing to all. Thanks Kellie and staff.
