I enjoyed looking around the village and windmill. The Scholte House was interesting as well. If you are going to Pella, you may as well learn about the town history. No better place to do it but here.

I love history, especially social history, and enjoyed seeing how people lived inn Pella in the 19th and early 20th century. I enjoyed the part of the village where several rooms from various homes have been connected. The Dutch boy and girl cut outs where you can take photos were fun too!

The mill is just nice. Lots of Pella history on the building and an amazing time spending there, also walk around to the main square worth every second.

The whole dutch downtown is a dutch treat. Worth walking around and shopping for a bit if you are in the area.

The tour is $10 per person and well worth it. The windmill tours are every hour on the hour. Larry did an excellent job explaining how the windmill operates. They even produce their own flour which is sold in small bags and a local bakery uses it as well. Larry gave us a tour of the top portion of the windmill. The first couple of levels are then self-guided. In addition to the windmill there is a small village with a watermill, blacksmith, sod house, a couple of 1800 style houses, along with a couple of air conditioned buildings. The village is self-guided and has several places to sit and smell the tulips. We were in Pella a couple of weeks after Tulip Time and the tulips were still beautiful. Inside the main building there is a gift shop and a timeline room of Pella. Bob is the caretaker of the village and he and his wife live in one of the village houses. Its a great way to spend a morning or afternoon and you meet such friendly people!
