Better plan to stop here. Delicious baked goods you will only find only in Pella. Try the Dutch letters, almond tarts, puff pillows, strudel, coffee cakes, breads, cookies. All of it is delicious!

Baked goods are always fresh and original. The shop is tidy, easy to navigate and always a helpful, friendly face behind the counter. A fun stop to visit on or off tourism season.

There is NOTHING bad to say about Jaarsma Bakery. It is a local bakery specializing is Dutch pastries.
I have been going there ever since I was a little girl (I ALWAYS got the Miss Piggy heavily-frosted sugar cookie)
Dutch Letters are the obvious go-to pastry in the bakery. It is an almond paste-filled pastry in the shape of an "s" coated in coarse sugar. If you go during the Tulip Time Festival (first weekend in May) be prepared to wait in line for at least 30 minutes or longer.
The apple nut bread, coffee cake, and danishes are also my family's favorites to get when we stop in!

In my opinion this is the best bakery in the country. Fantastic pasteries. They have everything from the typical donut to unique Dutch pasteries. I have yet to find anything that was not tremendous. They have great hours so if you are an "early bird" you can find them there to serve you and they close around 6pm. If there is any draw backs it is that they occasionally will run out of things. That is only because the pasteries are great.

Its a bakery. As in they bake cookies, cakes, breads. This is NOT a sit-down eating establishment. It also happens to be the worst bakery in town. Much of their baked goods are freshly made regularly yes, but many that you see in the case are days old.
