“Amazing park to visit”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

Have recently travelled to Western Australia during wild flower season and spent a week at Stirling Range Retreat. Wow! What a treat! The guided orchid tour (hosted by Ayleen, so knowledgeable on orchids) was a highlight. Birdlife Western Australia provided a guided bird walk. This proved to be so worthwhile also with many species to observe. The staff at the Retreat are dedicated, helpful and efficient. The amenities during our stay were excellent. My other half commented on how thoroughly the gents amenities were being scrubbed. Enjoyed a few walks and drives in the area - hope the tawny frogmouths and willy wagtails have successfully raised their chicks. Looking forward to returning to experience more wonders of nature in the Stirling Ranges.

This is a special place, superbly situated on the edge of the National Park. Tony and Ayleen are very welcoming hosts and true conservationists - with a great knowledge of the flora and fauna. Lots of info provided and special tours and walks are run in the season, plus slide shows some evenings.. They have created informative trails around the perimeter of the large property. We had a motel style room for one night, a bit pricey for what is provided, but comfortable and functioning. Unless the Lily Windmill is open (check beforehand) you need to bring your own food. A peaceful ideal centre for the Stirling Range

Room Tip: There are many different options to suit all groups

Had a great weekend at the camp site tenting even with a good drop of rain.

Great walk trails through the resort and not far to the national park. Wildlife around the camp areas was great to hear and see. Will come again one day

The retreat was a great place..... but the toilets and showers were never cleaned over the 3 days we were there and the soap was not replaced. With only 3 Toilets plus a urinal and 3 Showers for the Men and I assume the females had the same (alsmost) and with many be 150 people using them. I am NOT impressed with the lack of hygeine. The camp kitchen was also geasey and needed a good clean. Please sort this out as we would like to come again!!!!

Room Tip: Geta camp site over near the farm at the back- less noise from others

Located minutes from the stirling ranges and bluff knoll, stirling range retreat is a great caravan park for a weekend of camping. Great facilities, the bathrooms were immaculate and communal camp kitchen was clean and well maintained. The owners were very friendly and most helpful, on arrival assisting us with a quick and easy check in at 10pm.
Will definitely be visiting again, a great weekend camping under the stars!

Located on the edge of the Stirling Range National Park the retreat is designed to cater for people interested in all the park has to offer. The amenities, including a large camp kitchen are fine but remember this is semi arid area so gravel sites and short showers are part of the deal. Interesting wildlife on site with lots of nestboxes set up to encourage the local fauna to take up residence. The retreat publishes its own bird lists. Walk 200 metres and you are in the national park, jump in your car and you can visit more attractions. The owners are friendly, knowledgeable and eager to share info about the local environment. If you love the Australan bush this is well worth a visit, if you want lush lawns, gardens, plenty of TV channels etc then drive on to Albany.
