Bartender made a great Cosmo with fresh lime juice, not bottled.
Prime rib was done to my liking - med. rare, but had little beef flavor. Certainly not prime.
Took the remainder to go, and will make beef stroganoff from it.

We had tickets for the Johnny Holm Band and decided to have dinner at the Woodfire Grille. The atmosphere was very nice and gave you the sense you were not in north Iowa at the end of December. The service was friendly and prompt and the recommendations were spot on. Appetizers we had the grilled peach flatbread and the crab cakes, the cab cakes were amazing and highly recommend. We ordered salmon, sea bass and the walleye. The salmon and seabass were fresh and cooked medium and were not overcooked, in fact, they were cooked to perfection. The fried walleye was also nicely prepared and was a generous serving.

If you are going to an event or just want a nice evening away, I highly recommend The Woodfire Grille!

WoodFire Grill in Northwood IA> We went just a few days ago. The steaks were both good, well cooked, well seasoned. Everything is separate, the salads, side dishes, are all extra charges. The 15-20$ stated on this page are very incorrect. The steak alone is 35.00, plus potato at 6.00, then keep going if you like, salad, 7.00, etc.
The HALF lobster tail for 18.00, was quite simply, spoiled. It had been boiled to kill the smell, but once you cut into the pieces, they were very apparent spoiled. I can only think they thawed it over the weekend, and had not sold it till we went on Tuesday. We quietly told the server the lobster tail was bad. She said ok, took it away, and that was it. No, "So sorry," no chef to pop out, nothing. FOr a 'nice' restaurant, the female server was lacking in very simple restaurant politeness.
The server should of been working the buffet room, not the dining restaurant.
My husband was sick for two days from eating one piece of the lobster. To get the taste out of his mouth, he got the creme brulee. Served in a deep dish instead of the normal thin dessert dish, it was not the typical brulee, but ok. There was also spelling errors on their menu.

This is a very beautiful restaurant with rock walls and large fireplaces. Or food was very good but we had a few problems. 1- we had a group of 8 but the restaurant was not very busy, in spite of this it took about 50 minutes for our food to come out. My wife's dinner came out more than 5 minutes after the rest and her side dish was cold. 2- the service was not very attentive. It was a little later in the evening and we really felt like they wanted us to leave. Even going so far as to turn all the house lights on. We certainly weren't lingering, just trying to finish our meals that took so long to come out. One of us is a celiac (cant eat gluten). The menu does accommodate this very well with gluten free items clearly marked. 3- lastly, I think the food, although very good, is overpriced. For my wife and I with only one drink each, the meal was about $80. This would be okay if the service was great.

We probably would not eat here again.

Everything tasted as advertised and was very well prepared. I would not hesitate to eat here again. Wine list was not incredible but it carried sufficient options to provide for a nice experience. I love the design of the interior of the restaurant and it was a very relaxing and enjoyable evening on the road.
