“Great campground!”

We stayed in one of the Woodland cabins at the Spook Cave campgrounds. We were there in the fall, and the fall colors were wonderful. The cabin was nice--no TV but clean with all the necessities. The campground was very family-friendly and fun to explore. There are trains that go through the campground, but we and our kids found that to be part of the charm. Of course, we were in a cabin so maybe it's more of an issue when camping. We loved visiting McGregor during the day; it was a charming little town. And the nearby parks were fun, particularly Pike's Peak State Park.

It was a wonderful outdoor experience--relaxing and full of nights sitting around the fire pit watching the stars. We will definitely be back!

If you are curious about caves, this is a good one for starters. While it's not huge, it is a good place to take a beginning spelunker. You can enjoy riding through the cave in a boat, requiring you to keep your head low at times, while a tour guide tells stories of underground adventures.

Nice little campground. Don't camp next to the tracks - they are active and trains roll through during the middle of the night!

This tiny cave makes for a fun boat tour. I would avoid this attraction if you are claustrophobic or if you don't want to get to know your neighbors very well. Be prepared to lay down on the boat to pass under low hanging things! The boats are a little rickety, the pond a little scummy, but overall fun.
