After watching American Pickers, I thought there would be a lot more in store. Small but interesting sight. Lots of things marked NFS-not for sale. Still right off the main drag in Le Claire and worth the stop.

I recognized the building when we where pulling up, but it looks different with a gas station in front of it. It is a great location with the Mississippi River right on the other side of the street. It is located in a small quaint town, where Buffalo Bill was born.
The store itself is so very nicely decorated and displayed.
My husband and I were able to recognize some items in the shop from the show, that was nice and nostalgic. Many neat pieces for sale, some NOT for sale, the sale tickets attached to the items also state where and when the item was picked.
Danielle was not in, but there was a very nice young lady behind the counter to assist and answer any questions. We picked up a pickers post card, a pin, a mouse pad, and got a freshly picked airplane ignition for our pilot friend. We are glad we took the 10-20 minute detour to visit. Thanks Mike, Frank & Danielle & other nice lady behind the counter =)

Our family was heading back from a Galena vacation, taking the Great River Road south, when we stopped for lunch in Moline and a waiter mentioned that the American Pickers location in LeClaire was just up the road, 15 miles on the Iowa side. Being that all 4 of us are great fans of the show, we couldn't resist an impromptu side trip and we're glad we did. Reality tv as it is, we never expected Mike, Frank or Danielle to be present and of course they weren't, but all 4 of us were completely thrilled with being able to visit the actual shop, browsing and snapping photos. It was a hoot! Glad we went!

Interesting to see the site that is often shown on the television program, American Pickers. You can pick out some items that have been featured on the show in the first few seasons. The store is easy to find, it is just a half block off of the main street in Le Claire. Gift shop with t-shirts, hats and other souvenirs. Worth the stop. Won't take more than 30 minutes to see it all! I am surmising you shouldn't expect to see the stars of the show on your visit, although you might.

If you have seen this on tv you would have expected a huge building. It is very small, but FULL of "unique" junk. We had a fun time browsing and even "picked" at pickers. Everyone we tell that we went there are jealous and anxious to hear more about it. Can't wait to visit the one in Nashville.
