“What a pleasant surprise”
Reviewed May 6, 2014

Chicken dinner was excellent and milkshakes are fantastic. Had a peach milkshake that had lots of pieces of peach in it. Prices quite low. Friendly staff too!

“Missed Opportunity”
Reviewed April 14, 2014

Years ago I was taught how to make a "knock-out" Maid-Rite by my brother-in-law who's family came from Iowa and had owned/run a Maid-Rite shop. Your sandwich meat was browned correctly. However, the meat must be kept moist! The onions must be finely diced (not coarse chunks like yours). The dill pickles must be finely diced...not hamburger slices like yours. Onions & pickles done this way enhances the taste! Though catsup is an option...the legitimate Maid-Rite only uses mustard and the bun should have mustard on both halves. On the bottom half...liberally sprinkle the onion and pickles.

“Reasonably priced - good place to stop”
Reviewed March 23, 2014 via mobile

Get a corn dog for the kids for $1.55. There is a 10% discount for military. Clean place with great service and some fun distractions: antiques, old pictures of iowa farm country , and cracker barrel type shopping. The shakes, cheese curds, and maid rite were great. There isn't much variety and it isn't as fast as McDonald's but it fit the bill for us.

“Just as good as I remember!”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

I had not had a Maid-Rite in years, and when I saw the sign I just had to stop. Sandwich was just as good as I remember! Actually, was a little less sloppy! Good food and service at this location. Will stop in again next time through Lamoni. Thanks guys!

“Loose meats!”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

Visited as part of our Big 2013 Road Trip (had to participate in an important conference call back to the office, and this seemed like a good place to stop - and was). Food was very good (classic Maid-Rite made just right), and staff was helpful. Fun decor.
