We loved every minute of our stay at the Royal Palm. The location is awesome, across the street from many fine restaurants that back onto the lagoon. Our timeshare exchange was a 2 bedroom condo, recently renovated and spotlessly clean. We loved that the living room window slid open so it was like sitting outside, and it and the balcony provided a wonderful view of the private beach, pool and beyond all that the beautiful ocean. The staff were great, the restaurant very good, the beds and pillows super comfy and everything was more than enough to make this our best vacation ever. We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else when we return to St. Maarten. If you don't like it here, its probably you.

Just returned from a week at Royal Palm.... The Resort is kind of run-down. The photos on the site are very misleading. The construction is old and needing a facelift. However, the 1 bedroom units are huge and so spacious. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen had all new appliances.

The staff is very unfriendly and will NOT go out of there way to help with anything.

The resort is in a GREAT location but the "beach" on the resort is awful, too rocky to go in barefoot and no waves. There are plenty of beautiful beaches on the island, to make up for it. The pool is small and full of children every day... kind of annoying. The resort restaurant at the pool/beach is a joke... it literally takes an hour for them to bring you your food (and it's not very good). The gym is seriously needing a renovation; machines are old and most are broken.

The island is awesome, so much to do and such great restaurants. Overall, the week was terrific because we spent most of , but all in all, I was definitely disappointed with the Royal Palm and will look for a different resort if I ever visit St. Marteen again.

We stayed at Royal Palm for our honeymoon Dec. 2nd through the 9th. Although they did make us move rooms once, we thought the rooms were nice. We did end up getting moved to a non renovated room, but still thought it was nice and spacious. The renovated rooms are definatly better. Our room was a walk out to the beautiful ocean. The island is very friendly. Make sure to try the boathouse and go to Bamboo Bernies and Bliss in Maho for the nightlife if your younger! There are lots of great restaraunts within walking distance. Also Lady C's right across the street has good night life on the right nights! All and all I would definatly stay there again!

We were given a week at the Royal Palm as a wedding gift. We just returned from our honeymoon there 11/21/06. We had an AMAZING time! We had a two bedroom/two bath. The master bedroom faced the ocean with a patio. The 2nd bedroom faced the lagoon. Our rooms were spotless. They provided all dishes/pots and pans, etc. We had a dishwasher. There was a internet cafe and a deli/grocery downstairs. They also had a fitness center as well. The swim up bar was great as well as the restaurant food. We actually ordered take out one night and they called us when it was ready. Definitely worth it! The views here are also amazing. We did not hear or see any construction either as previous posters have said.

The only negative for us - the hotel had a lot of families staying there so we tended to drive to other beaches for a couples vacation.
