Owner description: A restored and operational water mill. This historical building is open every Sunday afternoon 1-5pm from March to 26th October (BST). A tour of the mill lasts around 40 minutes and takes you on a victorian journey, from the arrival of the wheat to the sacking of the flour. On the way you will be able to operate the 200 year old machinery and even start up the ten ton water wheel. We also have a tea room and beautiful wildlife rich grounds, as well as a fantastic dipping pond.

“A very interesting afternoon”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

We were looking for somewhere to take the children one afternoon. It was a sunny day. We came across the website, and decided to go along.

Wow what a beautiful setting. It's such a tranquil, peaceful beautiful place.

We had a tour around the mill. It was extremely interesting to find out about the history of the mill and to see how the mill works. The children became the millers helpers and got really involved. They also had to find mice hiding around the mill (not real mice!), they had fun trying to find them all.

We enjoyed a lovely welcome from tillys coffee shop, who are there providing teas, coffees and delicious cakes.

The kids coloured some mill pictures and made some salt dough mice.

We bought some flour, we are going to try and make our own bread with the recipe book we bought too.

We all had a lovely interesting afternoon.

Thank you so much to all the volunteers who made it so.
