“Love the Danish Inn”

Wonderful food. Great prices. Both Danish and American food. The buffet is offered each day and the best we have tasted. Always fresh and tasty.

“Best Place for Lunch/Dinner along I-80 in Iowa”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2012

If you are driving across Iowa on I-80, and you want an excellent "Thanksgiving" meal, then you need to stop here. Time your travel plans accordingly so you can stop here for lunch or dinner. Elk Horn is 6 miles north of I-80. There will be signs.

Danish Inn has the best lunch buffet I have ever had while traveling on an Interstate (especially through the Midwest/Great Plains). The buffet is different each day, since the offerings revolve between American dishes and Scandinavian dishes.

My meal, including a soft drink, taxes, and tips was $15. Excellent considering this is real food and real service. I also rarely stop for dinner since I am still full from lunch.

The service was a little spotty - but that is to be expected in a small town restaurant (you will always be disappointed if you expect top notch service in a small town restaurant).

This has been my regular stop every time I have to drive I-80 on Iowa. This makes the drive much better too.

They take credit cards/debit cards.

“Traveling home through Iowa”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2012

Took a stop off I80 and found a very delightful resturant in Elk Horn, IA called the Danish Inn. They mostly offer a buffet style with some Danish type foods. Service was very friendly and people were very friendly at the resturant. There is a Danish Windmill across the street from the Danish Inn and very worthwhile visiting.
