Description: Made from scratch comfort food. Tender roast beef, real mashed potatoes, Coconut cream pie and much more! Housed in an old barn like building, we have a gift shop and enjoy your favorite Iowa wine or local beer in our Silo Lounge. Established in 1990. Located in small town Iowa, life is focused around agriculture. True to life on the farm, we cook from scratch everyday because we believe it makes a difference. Country Junction is a view into the past with the many antique tools, equipment and memorabilia that make up our decor. Locally owned.

We took a recent vacation to the Dubuque area and chose to eat here for lunch. Our family of 7 includes kids from 5 to 13, and a couple of picky eaters. Nobody left hungry.

For lunch we had pretty standard fare for a small town restaurant - which is what we wanted. The quality of the food was very good, portions good, and price was very reasonable. So much so that we all left room for pie. Big pieces at a reasonable price - and some of the best pie I've ever had. Service was a little spotty as one server had too many tables to really take care of appropriately.

The food was so good that we decided to return for breakfast - another good experience. We got the family style breakfast, with eggs, hash browns, cinnamon rolls, sausage, bacon, pancakes, orange juice... again all at a reasonable price and very well done. Service for breakfast was better than our previous visit.

Overall a great dining experience - good small town restaurant food, great pie. We will definitely return.

On a recent visit to Iowa, we went to Dyersville to see the Field of Dreams and afterwards, stopped at Country Junction for lunch. It is a very cute restaurant inside and out, with lots of interesting antiques. You shouldn't expect fanciful dishes or 5 star cuisine, to be sure, but the restaurant does a great job with comfort food. My husband had beef/pot roast and I had an open-faced meatloaf sandwich and both were very yummy. We also enjoyed the inexpensive beer flight they offered that day - three 6 oz samplers of some unique brews for only $4.

Looks quaint and interesting, like an old country barn. Very friendly service (we were asked how we're doing 4 times!). The food is average at best. The Asian salad was fairly small, with 3 (!) chicken strips on top. The ham steak was good, but the mashed potatoes were watery and thin. If you're really hungry and don't want to go to the chain restaurants it's OK, but nothing to write home about.

This is the type of place where you need to eat dessert first! Their homemade pies are fabulous.
