We don't stay at a huge amount of caravan parks as our caravanning is mostly for motorsport purposes and we normally stay at the circuit. However, on our most recent trip, we stayed at several and this is without doubt, the standout site of those we visited.

Booking process was done initially online with a follow up phone call for deposit details. Very friendly, very efficient.

When we arrived to site, we went to book in - again, very friendly and efficient, despite some truly awful weather (thunderstorms!). At check in we discovered that for a few pounds extra, we could avail of a fully serviced pitch. Experienced caravanners will know what this is, but it was new to us! You get your own electric, your own water supply, your own water waste disposal and in this case, your own TV feed as well. Result! So we paid the couple of quid extra and were given a site map to guide us round to our pitch.

Pitch was exactly as advertised and perfectly level. It was also more than big enough for the caravan, us, a sitting out area (we don't have an awning but you could have put a really big one out) and our faithful Audi Allroad. The only issue was that our much loved, but somewhat battered, 94 Swift GXL, looked really shoddy compared to all our neighbours! Particularly as she was covered in mud, again, due to the weather conditions!

The site itself is a combination of touring caravans, seasonal pitches, camping areas and lodges. Our section had a beautiful view of the mountains. Despite torrential rain and storms, the whole site was beautifully kept.

The shower/toilet/facilites block was amazing. Beautifully clean, piped Radio 2, proper power showers..... just lovely. Without doubt, the best facilities block I have ever seen. For those who use those kind of things, there is also a full laundry facility, washing up sinks, fridges etc.

One really nice touch I noticed around the place were bags of complimentary dog leads for owners who wanted to bring their pooch around.

There is also a small bar/restaurant on site. However, do ensure that you make a reservation - we couldn't get in the first night we tried! Having tried the food, I'm not at all surprised you can't get a table just by walking in. It's excellent with a surprisingly varied menu, reasonably priced and great service. Had we known about it before we went, I suspect we'd have eaten there every night!

I really cannot find one negative thing to say about this site and would happily recommend it to anyone.

Room tip: If you hate the regular aquaroll trips and messing around trying to get a TV signal, then it's well worth asking about the serviced pitches. Book the restaurant early to avoid disappointment - and believe me, if you don't try it at least once, you will be disappointed!!
