“Long awaited!”
Reviewed March 14, 2006

What a find is in this area!! We ate there last weekend and had a blast and the food was excellent. We had sushi for appetizers and also did the set entrees. Everything tasted great. Service was excellent. Prices are to be expected for that atmosphere. My only complaintL My scallops were overcooked, but I'd rather eat 'em almost raw anyway.

“Amazing , even for people that are not into asian food”
Reviewed February 14, 2006

Taiko is a japanese restaurant that opened recently.
We went there several times and each time we loved it.
What is good is that they offer differents options:
For dinner you can sit down at group table of 10 around a chef that will put on a little show and cook your food.
you will be able to get the set dinner including a few broiled shrimps for appetizer, a salad, a miso soup (it is like a broth) rice and your choice of broiled meat: chicken, shrimps, steak etc..
the sauces will be aside for all that which allow everybdoy to dess things the way they want and makes it easy for the poeple that are not accustomed to japanese food.
You will also ahve a choice of noodles, tempura, anf suchi.
But if you are a sushi lover like i am, you will want to sit down in the sushi bar area, where the sushi menu is much more extensive (above a 100 different ones) and including amazing chef'special like the rainbow sushi...hmmm. the quality is great, the fish is real fresh, and it is just real good!
You might want to pop in for lunch as they have the sushi menu and great value lunch box
Overall it is not the cheapest place to go but it is definitely a cheap place for a japanese style dinner.
Chef style set menu are around $15
Sushi are on average $4-5, lunch box $8
and sushi special $9-12 but there is bigger quantity and they re just plain better.
