Visit this historic church (the oldest congregation in Iowa) to experience the majesty of stain glass artist Louis Comfort Tiffany. This church features over 100 Tiffany windows, an incredible frieze and a tranquil beauty that will calm even the most uptight member of your group. I'd recommend that you call ahead to make sure the church is open and ask if they have a volunteer docent available.

If you enjoy stained glass windows then you have to see this. It is the largest collection of authentic Tiffany stained glass windows west of the Mississippi. Take a few minutes to stop at this historic downtown church to see these windows up close from the inside so you can enjoy the way the light plays on the glass. Tiffany used multiple layers of different shades of glass to get the color and effect he was trying to achieve - truly spectacular.

I am not a regular church-goer, but I have attended events and participated in concerts at St. Luke's, and here's what I know about it: Beautiful, authentic Tiffany stained glass windows unique to this church that have been restored. If you are a fan of Tiffany glass, you shouldn't miss these windows. It's a beautiful large church located right downtown at the corner of 12th and Main. Sometimes it's open for visits even when church services are not in session; check with the office for times.

The stunning beauty of these Tiffany masterpieces is not to be missed. The whole church is a joy to visit. There was a dear soul there who told the church's story . She allowed us to touch the windows and photograph them as well. That day we were asked for a $2.00 donation per person!
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Iowa.

St. Luke's United Methodist Church on Main Street in Dubuque,Iowa, is home to a world-class collection of Louis Comfort Tiffany windows. If you Google " Dubuque IA Tiffany windows", you'll get an idea of what awaits you. These windows are magnificent, far superior to any Tiffany collection I've seen elsewhere. I've visited them three times, twice taking friends to see them. Each time I see them, I find them more remarkable. The Good Shepard window was displayed at the Chicago Columbian Exposition at the turn of the 20th century, and it is spectacular. Tiffany considered it his masterpiece. Take the time to visit this lovely church, and tell someone in the office you're there to see the windows. Chances are very good that you'll be given a tour by someone who is knowledgeable about the windows and the church's history. Then you'll be left in peace to study the windows and enjoy the changes in them wrought by the day's weather. There is no cost, but a generous donation is welcome and appropriate. You will probably find parking on the street near the church. Come armed with quarters for the parking meter. There are stairs (I suspect there may be handicapped access); call ahead if you have questions.
