This was really fun. I didn't know frogs came in so many different colors! I didn't know turtles got that big! Lots to learn about the local river!

We visited in the winter but also went in the summer. Both experiences were great, but the summer was better just because there were great things to see outdoors as well. We took our 4 kids, ages 11 down to 2 and they all enjoyed it. Very educational.

We took a drive into Dubuque from our vacation in Galena to go to this museum. Not sure what we expected, but it was way more fun that I thought it would be. Two different building set a big apart were joined by an exhibit of a retired riverboat and barge that sat right off the river. It was so interesting to tour these, and envision what life must have been like on the river. The huge fish tanks inside the museums were also quite interesting, as well as the history of river traffic on the old Miss.

The boat ride on the river was well worth the money and a great time for the whole family to be out on the river.

This is a relatively new museum - they have a wealth of information to share. Lots of wonderful displays - some interactive. So many things to learn about our great river. They have recently added on a new section. I would highly recommend it to everyone - young and old. Bet you'll find some facts that you didn't know about.
