We paid 15$ each for the 3 adults and 10$ for a 4 year old. We went to the Museum/aquarium over Labor day weekend and were horribly disappointed. There were atcually only a few aquariums with fish. There was one crocodile, that you could barely see and never moved. There were fish that you suppossedly could touch, but there were only a few, and it was hard for the children to reach into the tank, so they actually never got to touch them. Also, there were alot of empty tanks, where did these animals go? There was only 2 decent parts about this place: the otters, and the 1 large aquarium with giant catfish. We were still a little hopeful when we went upstairs, as there used to be a reptile room up there. Instead they changed it to a "dark room", which would be cool if you could see anything at all. They also had a bunch of educational stuff upstairs, but most of them were out of order and/or did not work correctly. This was such a disappointment! Do not waste your money!!

The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium is truly worth a visit when you are in Dubuque, Iowa. Contained in several buildings in the Ice Harbor section of the Port of Dubuque, the museum and aquarium has exhibits, films and activities for family members of all ages. The aquarium consists of multiple tanks containing both fresh and salt-water flora and fauna. The staff is very friendly and willing to answer questions or present information about their exhibits. The museum also includes several free films as well as two 3D/4D films (extra charge for the 3D/4D Movies). We spent 3 hours there and we were not able to see all of the exhibits and displays. If you are interested in American History and the role of America's rivers (especially the Mississippi) the is a museum and aquarium you should not miss.

My first time here and I was impressed. The buildings are wonderful, and the exhibits very interesting.
Had many short movies that were well done and educational.
The aquariums were very well done, and had a huge variety of fish and reptiles.
It's good for about a half a day visit.
After that we made a quick trip to Galena which is just across the mighty Mississippi.
Made for a great day trip.

This museum is geared toward all ages. We went with the grandchildren ages 8 and 10. They learned about how life was along the Mississippi a long time ago while having fun. I even learned a few things. I never knew buttons used to be made from the shells of clams found in the Mississippi.
