The dining areas appear dated, but the atmosphere was still quite nice for an intimate dining for two. My wife had the waiter-recommended Olive Chicken( ~$15) and I had a chef's special (Chicken Saltimboca ~$18). Both were prepared well and tasty, but nothing very extraordinary. No beers on tap. The hostess who seated us was paying attention! We were initially led to a table which was not the best for our needs (too out in the open) and although we didn't say anything she must have read our facial expression or body posture and smoothly led us to a different location. That is so rare and welcome.
My overall impression is that Christophers would be a reliable place for a decent , reasonably priced dinner out and we will probably be returning.

Driven by a million times it seems but this was our first stop. It was about 10 PM and the bar area was very busy. Older crowd so pretty calm and easy going. Fast service and great choices. Great drinks and the food smelled wonderful although we did not partake since we just ate elsewhere. Try a moscow mule because for once this place has the mugs. The bartender knew how to poor a proper drink too. Plenty of room to sit down and relax. Inviting low light area. Good for a first date or just a friendly get together. We will definitely return.

We have been going to Christopher's for many years. We used to live in the neighborhood. Favorites are Steak de Burgo, Garlic Chicken Linguini, Lasagna and salmon. My father-in-law loves their prime rib. Steaks are prepared exactly as ordered. Their twice-baked potatoes are awesome but they have not had them available the last couple of visits. Typically the service is very good. The staff is well-trained, friendly and professional. They will take reservations for larger parties, except special occasions like Valentine's Day.
In another recent visit, they were experimenting with a new ordering system. Since it was the end of the month, they were out of many items which had never happened before. My last visit was much better.

This review is not so much about the food but about the management and their handling of gift certificate issue. At the completion of our meal, we asked for our check. When check arrived, we handed our server a fifty dollar gift certificate that we had from Christopers/Mezzodis restaurants. Much to our surprise, wait staff and later manager refused to honor the card. At one time, these two eateries were co-owned but apparently that arrangement has changed. Not sure how these cards can be dishonored by management but they were. We paid our bill and left, never to return again. No explanation was offered or given as to why this particular card was not accepted. Next call may be to the consumers protection bureau of the Attorney General's office to see what these owners may have done to take money for cards and not honor them.

My husband made reservations for dinner on Valentine's Day. Neither one of us had been there before. Overall it was a very pleasant evening though I have a recommendation for the owners.
Please invest in some pagers to provide people who are waiting for their table and lose the PA system appoach. We dined listening to Frank Sinatra music that made for a wonderful atmosphere only to have announcements of "so and so, party of 2, your table is ready" and other announcements screetching over the loud speaker into the dining area every few minutes. It really affected the quality of the experience.

The food was wonderful with the exception of the salad. I had steak de burgo and it was fabulous. My husband had the prime rib and as a former chef, is very picky, but loved the meal. Particularly, the horse radish sauce.
The house salad however, was a bowl of green lettuce. Just lettuce. There was nothing else in the bowl other than a few croutons that were very, very hard.
On a more positive note: our waiter was wonderful! I wish I had gotten his name, but he was very good.
