Discovered this gem while visiting on RAGBRAI and was looking for a restaurant in the Court Street District. Enjoyed the dark sweet ale, Caesar salad, and then a fabulous braised duck dinner with the sweet potato bacon hash and thin asparagus spears. It was cooked perfectly -- tender and delicious -- the best duck entree I have ever had. My friends enjoyed their steak and prime rib choices as well. Service was also exceptional. Can't wait to visit here again.

I loved the seared Tuna salad and home made root beer! Classy place and was kid friendly. It worked well for our group!

My wife and I visited Des Moines and stopped in for a couple beers. We opted for Moscow Mules since they were the special that night. They were good. We sat at the bar and then the next day dropped back for couple beers and sat outside. Service was good both days. The only disappointment was the pretzels - they weren't really pretzels, rather little loaves of bread with dipping sauces - cheese, mustard and caramel, yes I said caramel.. I wondered why someone would eat caramel sauce on a pretzel but it did work with the 'pretzel' that wasn't a pretzel. All in all if we are in Des Moines again, we'll drop in again.

Cold and tasty brews, good bar food, and friendly staff. The homemade coleslaw and potato salad were delicious. We will return to this lively corner of downtown Des Moines.

Ended up here because the Irish pub next door doesn't sell food ... What?!?

Good mistake though ... Probably the best Reuben in town and their crispy red potatoes are equally awesome.

Excellent service, friendly staff.

Definitely will be back!
