The home was built at the turn of the century in 1877, and has been maintained very well. It does have a section of rooms with an art gallery, and civic events are held there. Some of the old rooms exist as they were then. You may tour the house if you come early for a show, or just make the tour as a trip.
But the centerpiece to me is the fine theater. It does not hold a large crowd, but attracts fine shows. Next show for us is the Oak Ridge Boys Christmas show. The seating is comfortable, and not too crowded like some other venues in Des Monies. (Civic Center!) There is even a half balcony which gives a truly excellent view of the stage. I highly recommend anyone seeing a show here.
